Hello, this is my first try review for Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
I didnt know I was going to get it today (9/2/07)
But after a gathering with some of my friends, and dads friends. I went to Home Town Buffet. and was eating with one of my gaming friends.. after discussing about video games for hours, it was 5:50, so we decided to finally leave.. and there was a Costco right by us. so we thought it was closed (cuz it close early on sunday), and by this time it was like 5:55. we looked, and it closed at 6:00. so we got Metroid, and just left.
------- Review -------
I popped in Metroid for the first time, and Imediatly the game was awesome. moving samus's arm to press buttons in your ship. then finally, leave to see your Captain.
Now, Im left handed.. and I tried it right handed, and it was OK, but I decided to play with my Left Hand. My arm was going whack, because I needed to get used of it. but the motion sensing is incredible. and smooth. The Walking needs some time to get used to though, because its kind of hard walking with the Wiimote and moving the nunchuck for me. but remember, this is my first time. and after a while, I got better at the controls.
The scan visor was rough at first, but then it became easier to use.
The token mechinizim is awesomeness, and You can buy stuff with them, like when you start up your game. it has "new game" "options" and "extras". if you click Extras, it brings you to a menu with abunch of features, lets just say Concept art for example. but there all greyed out, and have metals next to them. meaning you need a certain ammount of Achievments to accsess certain Extra stuff. which I find pretty cool.
The Graphics are really awesome. and it has some great Anti-aliasing.
Whats sweet is you get most of your stuff early. not like previous Metroid games, where you loose all your stuff. here, you have your Morph Ball still, your Morph Ball bomb, Charged Beam, Double Jump, etc. and then you get your Rockets in the second part of your first mission.
So Finally, I reach the Boss. and you have to really think fast, because 1, you have to lock on to him (its the best way to beat him), strafe while he throws up on you, and then when he slams the ground, you also have to jump, all at the same time, you have to be shooting his arms. Charged shots take his red arms in one shot. after that, he shoots these purple things at you, which you shoot back at him. then once again, repeat the process to his back gets all Red, then keep shooting him, and shooting him, (I prefer to use 1 charged shot, then a rocket). and once hes dead, it goes to the cutcene where he gets electrcuted and falls down and gets blown to bits by a ship. (which looked incredible).
--------- So after beating the first mission. I let my bro play it, and I gotta tell you, its awesome sauce. and I just cant wait for tommorow to play all day long. (oh wait, my dad is here, so he will be playing some TW PGA Tour 2008). well whatever, for the first time, this is defenitly the best Wii game I played, (I only played Zelda: TP, Super Paper Mario, and Tiger Woods 2008). its so cool, and the motion sensing is epic.
Gameplay: 9
Graphics: 9
Story: - (only played 1st mission)
Overall: 9.5
-- BTW, Today I decided to play it Right handedly for now on.

I HATE THE LOAD TIMES! It takes about 5-10 seconds just for the doors to open on some levels! |

It takes me over 15... ;~;
I shoot the hell outta the doors because the doors are low on budget. |

What's even more annoying is that (extremely minor spoiler)I'm running from those stupid bird things that will half kill you and I'm expecting the door to open. It doesn't. |

EDIT: But I HATE when the Phazon Metroids break out of the cages when you take the energy cell. Damn door wouldn't open and they ate me. D: |

I just got the game today . I didn't defeat the first boss yet and decided that I'd find stratedgies and play tomorow. It's good, but it takes me awhile to get used to first person pov games, they kind of make me sea sick for some reason o_0;. |
