Let's talk about this game. Some call it a classic, others say that it's overrated, and some are indifferent. And some have turned it into a religion.

What are your opinions on the game? I think that it's worthy of being called a classic; but it certainly isn't the best game in the world, nor the most important, nor the best Final Fantasy (FFIX takes the cake, in my opinion.)

And, as I have said before, the fanbase can be ridiculous. *Points at Sephiroth.*

FFVII was where the FF series died. VI> VII any day.

I don't know. I think that the PS1 era was the golden age of Final Fantasy. Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Buh huh huh!

Well almost every Final Fantasy game is a classic, Square sets the standard for RPGs and has been for years. I haven't actually play FF7, but I'm not a fan of the story and I much prefer FF9 over the hi-tech crap the 7 & 8 pushed.

One of my favorites is Final Fantasy 2/4.

I refer to it as that because they are the same game in the US.

It was one of my first RPGs, and the characters and plot are memorable.

I never owned a PS1, so I never got to play FF7. :/
I honestly don't think I would like it much, though... RPGs aren't my thing. Paper Mario and Pokemon are the only exceptions.
