A SHY GUY.

They're one of the three "main" Mario enemy classes (Goombas, Koopas, Shy Guys... Bob-ombs and Boos to a lesser extent.) and they were enemies in PM1, relegated to purposeless audience members in TTYD, and did not appear at all in SPM.

I DEMAND A SHY GUY PARTNER.

... or a Toad.

After playing TTYD, I actually used to fantasize about creating the next Paper Mario game. It felt kind of stupid, but fun at the same time. As partners, I thought about having a Gold Fuzzy, a Wiggler, a Chain Chomp (Are you happy, Lord Bob?), a Toad, two Shy Guys (that act as one partner), and possibly a Duplighost.

The Wiggler's ability could be similar to Yoshi in TTYD. The Chain Chomp might be able to flatten enemies (similar to Thudley). For the Shy Guys, I thought one might be able to launch the other one into the air, allowing it to unlock gates from the other side or cross gaps to hit switches. The Duplighost would be able to transform you into whichever character was in front of you (like Peach's Sneaky Parasol in the original Paper Mario).

So, what do you think?

All great ideas. Personally, I'd love a Pokey partner. They seem so generic, so I think it would be cool to have one with a Partner-esque personality.

That's a good idea! I never even thought of having a Pokey partner.

Thanks. I even made a fan character once named Pokelle. He was like this adventurer/archeologist Pokey with an Indiana Jones hat. He would work similar to your Shy Guy Partners, in that he would throw one of his "sections" to hit switches and stuff.

I'm starting to like your idea better than the Shy Guys. You wouldn't possibly have drawn a picture of Pokelle, would you?
