First, get Cave Story.
Now, I'm sure you're all wondering what this is. For the un-informed, the picture used for tha main character in Cave Story is in the data folder that comes with it, and it's labeled "MyChar.pbm". Now, I've edited this picture a couple times to have different characters, so now I'm letting others have their own characters.
It's very simple.
Just ask for one right here, supply a picture or sprites, and it should be done sometime from about an hour after the request to three days later. XD |

Exactly. Since Cave Story uses sprites, you can just take the pbm files, change it to bmp, and congratulations! You can edit it now. But, you'll notice that the game will crash with an error if you try playing now. You have to do some hexing with it to make it work. I prefer to do something different then what I'm going to do for this, but since it's one thing, it'd be better if I did it the way I'm going to. When you change the pbm to bmp, it erases a line of text in the file that says "(C)Pixel" which the game requires. All you have to do it edit the image however you like, change it back to pbm, and hex the (C)Pixel back in.
Take note that I'm doing all of this for you. All YOU have to do is download the requested MyChar.pbm, then replace the original MyChar with it. I suggest you make a back-up just in case you want to play as Quote again.

If you want a sheet of Ampy, then that should be fine. Just draw up a pic, get someone else to do it, or just give me the details to edit from a normal Mimiga. |
