I dont really keep up with the new 360 or PS3 games. But, I did just purchase a new HDTV, so now I actually have a reason to consider getting one of them. This is how I break it down:
GAMES: Most people I know have a 360 so I know of more games on 360 than on PS3, but there are basically the same games available on each. As for multiplayer, PS3's online play seems a bit unorganized. I like the Xbox Live features, but I do not like the monthly fee. WINNER: XBox
STEALTHINESS: This is an important factor to me. I need my console to dissapear into my cabinetry, and not make its presense known when I am using it. Xbox fails at this because it is way too loud and overheats (it has to have room to breathe). PS3 is quiet, but its huge and oddly shaped. Looks dont matter too much though, because both are wireless and can be hidden in a cabinet, only need to be seen when inserting a disc. WINNER: PS3
FEATURES: Xbox has some PC integration, but it is encumbered by Microsoft Windows requirements and DRM restrictions. Although I do not know the full details, I think PS3 allows you to access any media on any networked PC. And I hear you can even access your PS3 data remotely. Home looks like it will be cool too. And then there is the HD Movie features. XBox has an ugly add-on, and its loud fans a heard during the movie. PS3 has BluRay built in and is reviewed to be an excellent player. HDMI and 1080p support is very nice and the navigation menus match my Sony Television. WINNER: PS3
PRICE: Xbox, while cheaper initially, becomes equal (and maybe more expensive) to PS3 once you factor in wireless, HD movie playback, and a larger harddrive. Microsoft requires nicely packaged propietary components, which are way overpriced IMO. Also, I hate to pay monthly fees for services like XBox Live. Games on both consoles are priced the about the same. WINNER: PS3
So, overall, I'll probably go with PS3 if I get another console. |

Plsu you are talking about console sales when you say "Last palce." Oh no, the casual gamers are buying all the Wiis!? WHAT! The 360 has already been out for a year!? BLASPHEMY!
Also Altair, calling me a fanboy is a great excuse to not bringing up actual facts to combat my opinions. I should try this tactic more often myself. I hope you enjoy Trivial Pursuit and Viva Pinata Party Animals. |
Yeah sure, I'll have fun with Gears of War and Halo 3. Me, Lord Crump, Maiq the Liar, Crazy Cody, and Sharp will all be parting in Halo 3 having so much fun, While your sittin all by yourself playing LittleBigPlanet. |
Go play your little Halo. I'll be designing my own levels then takin up a Warhawk and shootin dudes in the face...for free! |

Correction, nothing in the world is free. You pay for Sony's online system with your sanity and patience. |

Just another standard tactic of stretching out an amount of money to make it seem less.
Also here is another example of what I was saying about variety. Here is a list of different top games form different categoreies.
Action: Streets of Rage 2, A down loadable game even if it is a good one nothing is stopping Sony or especially Nintendo from getting their hands on it.
Action-Adventure: Kameo, a game released 2 years ago. As well it is the only 360 exclusive outside of Dead Rising and Saints Row unless you want to count Overlord, but I wouldn't...I own it
First Person Shooter: Bioshock. Really nothing to be said here except if you freakin love FPSs and nothing else, more power to ya and go buy a 360.
RPG: Oblivion (Lol on PS3), I know people will say "ETERNAL SONATA!" but you know what it don't have a score yet. As well...there are only 5 games on the list. WHAT. THE. HELL. Seriously, PS3 will be way past that come their 1 year mark.
Real Time Strategy: Command & Conquer 3. Better on the PC for one and once again only 3 games though since this isn't normally a console genre I suppose it can be forgiven.
Racing: Forza 2, of course this is one of the ares the 360 is good in.
Sports Games: Almost all 3rd Party so I'm not even going to go through these.
Platformers: Castlevania Symphony of the Night, once again a down loadable game, although a good one it's kind of pathetic they don't have any first party games.
Fighting: DOA 4, yeah did I mention that PS3 already has more fighting games then 360...nice...
I could go on but I think enough has been said. |
