He should be in more Mario games. He's only been in super Mario bros. 2, and Birdo, Shyguy(w00t), and even the veggies have been in other games.
Discuss Phanto here, and all his masked awesomeness.
Now that I think about it, Shyguys should wear Phanto's as masks, for awesome times pi.
Also...
Take the key, we swear nothing will happen...

I think the reason Phantos was never in a game because Super Mario Bros. 2 was just a Japanese game "Doki Doki Panic" with the characters replaced with Mario characters. Lol, Luigi is Mama in Doki Doki Panic. Mama Luigi. And Toad was some guy in a turban.
Anyways, I think Mario series never intended Phanto to be in more than SMB2.
Also, Shyguys originated in SMB2, so I guess Nintendo liked Shyguy, but not Phanto. |

But imagine how awesome it would be if in, let's say Super Mario Galaxy there is a classic planet with only enemies from the first 3 mario bros. games.
And in one of those levels you have to find a key to a door, but OH NOEZ!!1! the key is guarded by a full-blown, kickass awesome 3d Phanto!
Imagine getting chased by a 3d Phanto over lots of tiny planets untill you reach the door.
