The Halo franchise is perhaps one of the most over rated video game series EVER. It's pretty much just as generic as any First Person Shooter. Oh wait, it's in space, against aliens! Real original Rolling Eyes

Then again, Flavio shoudn't talk about originallity, as Nintendo isn't too original either. However, Nintendo makes their games fun, and different. Halo's gameplay is unoriginal, and dare Flavio say it, no too fun.

Though, we are entitled to our own opinions, so please if you'd like to argue, do so.

Generic? Some parts, maybe.
Overhyped? Yes, but people who buy into it are morons.
Fun? HELL YES.
Original? Maybe not, but it does a good job at what it sets out to do.

Places and people who already have the game have been praising it for several days now, this thread will make no impact on any Halo players here. Because the fact is, you can flame the game all you want, we will just be kicking back playing Halo 3, ignoring it all. Rolling Eyes

Everyone knows Halo is all about multiplayer, and multiplayer is what it does very very well. The only beef I have with Halo is having to play with a gamepad.

Playing a FPS with joysticks is like flying a plane with steering wheels.

I don't like the elitist movement. With Halo, unless you've been playing so much that you no longer have a life outside of it, you will get killed without even getting to fire a shot. Same goes with all shooters online...

Halo redefined first person shooters (just to let all the NON GAMERS HERE KNOW)

Halo 3 is very original, especially with its Forge Ability, and online play. (features in online play)

and I assume you never played Halo 2 (or 1) online. because it is really fun online. (for all we know, you never played halo at all!)

I agree it is getting Overhyped, but I wouldnt say overrated.

no need to worry man, like Maiq said, we dont give a damn what other people say about Halo 3, no matter what, it doesnt mean anything, were still gonna get it, and have loads of fun. there opinion isnt worth 2 cents, if we already KNOW how halo 2, halo 1 is like. Flavio thinks Halo 3 is not too good, and others think its cool. nothings gonna change

I still think my opinon is valid, and has not been addressed in any Halo reviews yet. Playing a FPS with a gamepad is scientifically proven to be more frustrating than playing with mouse/keyboard or Wii Remote. The only people who will enjoy Halo 3 are those who have played the previous Halos, everyone else will be frustrated with the controls for weeks. That right there should knock down the score at least a little, or at least be mentioned in the reviews.

And I have a HUGE deal with Halo. (Generic, as you said, ripped way outta proportion.) Not nsayin all 360 games suck, but HALO SUXX BALLS!

I have to say... I agree with Maiq and Francis. It's unoriginal, yet fun, and it's all about Multiplayer.
