Again, my brother Mario went off on an adventure. An again, I was left behind to take care of the house. Me, the Superstar - Luigi! I've done what I can to help keep the Mushroom Kingdom safe, completely without fear. Yet I'm the star of less games than fingers I could count on my left hand! Even visits to that old mansion where I got to play hero don't cheer me up.

But then... yep, I was feeling pretty good not too long ago. I had just been a REAL hero - a hero of prophecy, if you can believe that! 'The Bold and Brave Man in Green'... that's what they called me... and I was nothing but good throughout the whole storyline! I'm telling you, it was great! Thanks to me, the worlds were saved. I got to see Daisy and everyone else at the Mushroom Kingdom once again after that, and it was a happy time for all...

And now, just a few uneventful months later, here I am, sitting in the dusty old remodeled basement beneath my house, writing my frustrations. Mario has gone into space this time - outer space! You know... stars and weightlessness and all sorts of planets... just thinking about it makes me jealous! I mean, I've never even BEEN to space before, right? I've got to see it for myself!

Unfortunately, someone needs to hold down the home front. It can get pretty boring around here. That's why I'm glad that I have you, my secret diary, which nobody will ever know about - not even Mario!

Any good, as far as capturing the character and such? If so, I'll keep writing entries.

I made a few modifications to the secret basement, just to be safe. Unless someone had Super Boots or something crazy like that, they'd never be able to get in here! So I'm not worried. Nope.

Earlier today, I took a chance and walked to the Dojo for some training. I've been practicing in secret for my next big adventure... even Mario doesn't know! I wonder what he'll think when he comes back and notices that my HP and FP have increased? Eh... I'll have to worry about that later!

Right now, I've got something more important to do. As soon as I close you, Diary, I'm going to run out of the house and put up an advertisement on Toad Town's bulletin board: 'Thrill-seeker looking for adventure.' I mean, I'm sure I can get Merlon or Goombario to look after the place while I'm away...

I can't help it. I have to go on an adventure - a quest of my own! I want people to look at me in the Mushroom Market and say: "There goes the Great Luigi... the green guy who saved us!" It'll be a dream come true, Diary. My greatest dream! I'll be signing autographs again in no time.

Look out villains... Luigi is on the hunt!

Someone saw my ad today. I'm so excited you wouldn't believe it, Diary - not because there's a villain, oh no! it's because I, Luigi, shall finally have the chance to save the Mushroom Kingdom... and do it on my own! No big bro at my side this time to help, but that won't stop me. I've got a job to do. Yep... I'm pretty good at saving stuff. And there's a poor Princess Goomba that needs to be saved by a strong, musclebound hero.

So of course, I've decided to leap right to it. She's being held captive in the old Koopa Bros. Fortress that my brother stormed on one of his older adventures... imagine. He got to go and save the Star Spirit, but not me. Me, the Great Luigi! Talk about lame!

Merlon has agreed to watch over the house while I'm away. He gave me this cool ancient sphere, which lets him communicate with me, no matter how far away I am.

Problem is, I'm not sure what sort of bad guys are waiting for me at that old castle... so I'll have to go prepared! I mean, I'm not afraid or anything. It'll be a piece of cake. Until then, Diary... wish me luck on my adventure!
