You are all wrong. The best was the first Mario Party. The boards had the perfect balance of fun and randomness. Bowser was awesome. There were no annoying characters. All the minigames were fun. There was no stupid theme. The only reason there are 8 Mario Parties is because the first one was so dang good. |

Mario Party 3 was good too. |

MY LIST OF MARIO PARTY RATINGS (yes, I have 8 now)
1. Mario Party (WOOHOO!)
2. Mario Party 3 (Game Guy was the only downside)
3. Mario Party 5 (Loved Super Battle Mode)
4. Mario Party 7 (Dunno why, just fun)
5. Mario Party 8 (A bit annoying, but candy is cool)
6. Mario Party 2 (Just didn't like it)
7. Mario Party 4 (Volleyball was the only fun part of the entire game)
8. Mario Party 6 (Just plain hated it- I have no other reasoning) |

Which Mario Party had the car battle mode? Because that'll always have a special place in my heart.
Well, except for the lame hidden weapons. Four hours of battling for a weaker melee weapon and a useless landmine maker. |

Yeah. That was pretty much the whole reason I got that game.
I mean, I enjoyed the regular gameplay, but the Super Battle Mode was what pushed it up from rental status. |

Agreed. The boards were sub-par, but Super Battle Mode and Bonus Mode were great.
Anyway, King Boo's Haunted Hideway has my vote for best board so far. It has everything I like: Randomness, great theme, ghosts, many path choices, great effects for Green, DK, and Bowser spaces, and, most importantly, Whomp has funny quote.

And, I think the first one was the one that had Minigame Island, or whatever it was called. The mode where you had to beat ALL the minigames in a little mini story mode. That was really awesome. |
