Bungie has released a statement today about changes they have made to the matchmaking services on Halo 3. All of which are awesome and make me want to play more. These include:
.Big Team Battle matches are now 16-player affairs. .In the Team Slayer playlist, the appearance of Shotty Snipers has been greatly reduced. .Now, when players veto Shotty Snipers, the game that results from the veto will not be Shotty Snipers. .In one-sided VIP matches, the attacking team will now see a waypoint for the VIP they are hunting. .In Lone Wolves, Slayer gametypes will appear more frequently.
I've seen a lot of people complain about Shotty Snipers, and I'm not a fan of it either so it is good they addressed this. As well I'm sure all of the Lone Wolves players will appreciate more Slayer games, and the changes to Big Team Battle and VIP games will be a great edition for those who enjoy playing on teams like myself. Hopefully we will see more awesome editions like these soon.

BtB was always my strong point in Halo 2. And as for Shotty Snipers... my bro came home from college for the weekend with his 360 and Halo 3. I HATED IT. |

I have never been a Sniper in Halo. I'm good at sniping in other games, but I just can't seem to do it in Halo.
Also... I just like having a lot of other people around to kill. Also why I used to be higher-ranked in Rumble Pit than Team Slayer... without being a vulture. |

I don't like Shotty Snipers either and I can snipe fairly well. I just prefer assault weapons and busting into a dudes base using complex driving techniques. |

One-sided VIP is unfair now. Slow shield charge, hud marker and no overshield makes all games a tie. |

Part of the problem with VIP is that people always pick the same spot. I killed the VIP once and teamed up with someone else a second time to kill him and he was in the pipes both times on High Ground. |
