Where it previously said "Release: December 3rd", it now just says "TBD". I REALLY hope that it's not the case, but since Sakurai said that there's still some development left, I'm afraid that it may end up coming true... |

I heard on the SmashWiki it won't be released in Japan until January. They always release it in Japan first, so...
If it's delayed, I'm going to be pissed.
I'm not going to get it unless it comes out before Christmas. Otherwise I'll have to wait for my 14th Birthday. (April) |

Hopefully, if it is delayed, it's still in December. If not, I have a feeling Nintendo is going to miss out on a lot of sales...Christmas is the single best time of the year for video game sales. |

I hope it gets delayed till Summer. More companies need to realize they can get better sales in the months with less games then the holidays when hundreds are released. |

The only games that get better sales in the summer are games that normally would get overlooked amongst all the holiday season competition (like Mario Strikers Charged). Smash Bros will not sell more or less based on when it is released, just like it didnt matter when Halo 3 released. Delaying it will only piss off fans that have been counting down the days till Dec. 3rd. So at this point, they better have a real good reason for delaying. |

Well, it still says December 3rd, 2007 on that first notice that updated after E3 (the same time as DK). Since Sakurai didn't put one up on Japan, if he was really wary, he could take it down. There's still hope.  |

I don't think so. I'm tired of having what has come to be known as the Summer Drought in the gaming world. The publishers need to start spreading their bigger games out over the entire year instead of at just the holidays. Like you said it probably won't matter much when the game is released, it will sell. And that is exactly the point. Perhaps Brawl is a bad example for this since it has already been delayed but the point still stands. Most people do not have enough money to buy all the games at once and thus those they don't think are worth it may be left by the wayside regardless of if it is a great game or not. I myself have done with with countless titles due to a lack of funds, and as a result I have missed many games that I might have otherwise had a chance to play. By spreading out the releases, publisher lessen the strain on gamers wallets and increase sales for themselves and satisfy the demands of the gamers at the same time. |
