Why won't Francis add this? It'll get people like me who want name-tags back to shut up, it'll allow more freedom, and there's not a single downside to it. |

Posting as an alt should mean you are speaking as if you were that character. Most of the forums here involve real-world discussion. Mixing fantasy characters with real-world topics has messy results. What you end up with is a bunch of spammy posts in every forum all in the name of "being in character". Now if people could actually post legitimate comments and also stay in character, then that would be great, but I doubt most members here can consistently role-play that well. |

Alts in RP forums = in-character
Alts elsewhere = simply for the sake of preferential names |

It still wouldn't work.
Maybe we can have a "Nickname" we can turn on or off in the profile, as well as change once a month like the name tags?
If you had a nickname on, you'd have to forfeit your title to show your username like an alt. |
