I have not played Second Life.. but I was curious as to how it works.
Do you have to purchase material to create things with?
What keeps you from creating a billion objects and flooding the world with them?
Can your avatar be anything, or does have to have a human shape?
If you get clothing, does it have to "fit" your avatar?
How do you keep others from destroying you or your posessions?
Is there a concept of things like health, ability, or strength? |

Can your avatar be anything, or does have to have a human shape? Hell no! I have a fish, shyguy, kirby... and of course the Ninja Tuxedokip.

How do you keep others from destroying you or your posessions? They can't. Only you can modify your objects.
Is there a concept of things like health, ability, or strength? Yes, but only in renas and the sort. |

Can your avatar be anything, or does have to have a human shape? It can be anything. I have made Fawful, a classic Medikoopa, and a Heartless Wizard. I have seen dragons, normal cats (tiny little things), full-sized Transformers and Decepticons, Yoshis, Sonic the Hedgehog, Spectre (Ape Escape), Sly Cooper, Large Body Herartless, jello... the list goes on.
If you get clothing, does it have to "fit" your avatar? Not really. You can get cloaks that are too big, but when it comes to actual 'clothing', it automatically comforms to your shape.
How do you keep others from destroying you or your posessions? They can't destroy you or your stuff. They can wreak your stuff if you grant the person permission to alter your objects (if they're not locked).
Is there a concept of things like health, ability, or strength? |
In combat systems, yes. I have purchased three from Midgar, and they show your health, your class, your name, and how many wins/losses you have recorded. |
