Hello,
At this time, we don't have any plans to offer a game demo of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Typically, game demos are released to familiarize players with a game they hadn't heard of and encourage them to buy it. I think you'll agree that's really not the case with Super Smash Bros. Brawl!
If, however, a demo is made available in the future, we'll be sure to post the news to Nintendo's official Super Smash Bros. Brawl website. I've included a direct link to it below:

Sincerely,
Nintendo of America Inc. Travis Wise
I find this reply very unsettling if this is the stance Nintendo is taking on this and future demos/online content that will be available on the Wii. Demos are not only put out to let people try a new IP they haven't heard of, but also to build hype for a game and keep the fans satisfied until release. This seems to be the case on every other console except for the Wii. Fans have been waiting ever since that E3 2005 so long ago when we heard Smash Bros. may have a chance of coming out at launch, and I think it is fairly ridiculous all we have been rewarded with is a site that slowly trickles out news about this game that we have been eagerly awaiting for close to two years now. It is obvious some form of playable demo is out, and I am still dumbfounded that there have been no plans to release this to the eagerly awaiting public yet. I understand that the Wii's online store may not have the capacity to handle a demo yet, but could it not be released in a disc as your company has done before? At this point I think my point has been made clear that a simple answer of "Demos are for unknown game." is not enough for the people who have read your previous reply and myself. I eagerly await a response. |
They cannot deny the wall of text. |

I'd both laugh and be pissed if you got this response:

Need we remind them that Microsoft released a demo of Halo 3? A game that may be more popular than Smash Bros... and even though that was more of a debugging test, it was still a great publicity move.
What irks me is that on the Smash Bros. Dojo they mentioning the demo! And they continue to explain the controls, but wouldnt it be better if we could actually experience the controls? Maybe they could even get some feedback and make a few tweaks before release. |

Yes, because we're all going to be able to go to E for All, right?

They said they are forwarding it to someone who has an actual answer. Hopefully it won't be a crappy one. |

No, Nintendo would never set up demo booths. They don't want to cause any kind of fights.
There would be a limited supply of demos, and a very high number of people who want it... Nintendo is an All or Nothing kind of company. |
