That article is confusing the Famicom with the NES. I think Nintendo of Japan rereleased the NES not too long ago, so it had an extended life spam.

I'm pretty sure support for the NES was dropped by NoA a while ago (I want to say 5 years ago). SNES, N64, Game Boy (original, pocket, color), and Virtual Boy are also no longer available for repair by Nintendo of America.

*hugs her fully functional NES (which her parents got when it was still new - the original release in the US, I mean) proudly*

I'm keeping mine, even if it breaks down.

Why do you have multiples?

I have... *goes from memory*

Atari 2600
NES, SNES, GB, GBA, GBP, 2 GBASP, DS, Virtual Boy, Wii, GC
Sega Saturn, Genesis, CD, Dreamcast, Game Gear, Nomad (portable system for Genesis games)
PS, PS1/Screen, PS2, PSP (can't find this damn thing)
X-Box

... We collect over time, as it comes out.

Reason for no N*Gage - stupid idea, and all the games are shoddy ports from good systems.

I had friends who didn't want their gameboys anymore, AND I wanted some of the special edition colors and stuffs.

Oh and Francine, I have Manhole, and Fire, chu.

I don't spring for special editions. I might get it, if I don't have the system already, but otherwise, no.
