Chris Slate, Editor-In-Chief of Nintendo Power wrote: |
Dear Nintendo Power subscriber,
I couldn't be more excited to inform you that-starting with this very issue-Future US, Inc. has partnered with Nintendo to publish Nintendo Power! If you don't know Future by name, then you certainly know our company by its other industry-leading magazines which include PC Game, Official Xbox Magazine, PlayStation: The Official Magazine, and Pregnancy. Although...in this case, we're probably talking more about those first three.
What does this change mean to you? Not much, really. You will continue to receive Nintendo Power with absolutely no changes to your subscription, and we will continue to work very closely with Nintendo to give you the same high-quality magazine that you love. We're big fans of the magazine just like you, so we're not about to mess it up.
That's not to say that we won't be making good changes: we're publishing an annual Holiday issue (sandwiched between the December and January issues), and we have very exciting plans for a bigger and better nintendopower.com. And over time, we will always look for ways to evolve and improve every aspect of the magazine.
On a personal note, working on this magazine is a dream come true for me. If the kid that used to sneak his issues of Nintendo Power into class had known that he would, one day, work for the magazine...well, he probably would've been an insufferable little brat, actually. Good thing I only just found out!
I'd love to hear from all of you as often as possible, so don't be shy! Let us know how you think we're doing, what you'd like to see, and by all means, send more photos of Zelda tattoos and Mario cakes. All editorial-related comments and questions can be sent to nintendopower.com@futureus.com.
What a time to be a Nintendo game! The whole world has gone crazy over the Wii(TM) and Nintendo DS(TM), and we're getting new Metroid, Zelda, Mario, and Smash Bros. games one right after the other! and next year, Nintendo Power turns the big two-oh!
I'd better end this letter now, before I wake up.
Chris Slate Editor-In-Chief

I worshipped Nintendo Power back in the day (I have the first issue), but sadly, magazines are now doomed* along with the newspaper.

Uh... WTF is Pregnancy?
*unless they include demo discs. If they give out SSBB demo, sign me up for whatever! |

* for legal reasons, "more" may refer to such things as exclusive games, special coupons, and unique decor-based items! |

I get Nintendo Power AND Game Informer. I mean, if that doesn't mean good benefits, then I don't know what does. |
