This was brought up in Off-Topic, and it seems like a pretty decent idea.
Let the people nominate about 4 candidates, give them a chance to campaign with their own little staff, and then let the members vote for a monthly president, who can discuss improvements with Mods/Francis with actual authority. |

To make things interesting, the presidency could be elected on the day of a party? That's just my opinion. I also have a question. Would the staff be involved in anyway, once the president has been elected? |

This is my idea for the staff. I'm not sure if you'll agree with the terms for the president.
President: Same powers as the mods, but can't ban/jail the mods.
Vice President: Same features as the secretary, but can't upgrade a new member.
Secretary: Is allowed only to lock and move threads, not allowed to upgrade new members or jail members.
Treasurer: Earns each member of the group an extra coin, for every ten posts made by one member of the group. It also makes random arcade games, free. Does not have any features of the President, Vice President or Secretary. |

I don't particularly like this idea. Let me explain why.
a- We already have mods. Why make all these little forms of "semi-mods" just to take their place? If we need more mods, we need more mods. Not this.
b- The whole "elect your representative" idea will never work out with this crowd. Let's face it: Digibutter is biased. The second this thing will pop up, the most "popular" members will immediately get bumped to the top, like MALAK, Maiq, or Mama Luigi. Nobody will consider if the member is up for the job, they'll just choose the most accepted of the group.
c- People will turn power-hungry. People who get the spots with less power, such as Secretary, will complain about their lack of control and the whole system will fall into chaos.
I rest my case. |
