That stopped her in her tentative tracks. She bit her lip and, starting to nibble the nails on one hand, checked her bag. She'd been wandering for a while and had already encountered a few monsters- nothing too troublesome, but she didn't have as many supplies as she usually carried around. She hadn't been to a shop to stock up in a while, being lost and all. "...Um..." |

"There's also snakes, and bats, and-"
"Okay, she gets it!" Jay interrupted. "Listen we're going to go back to looking for... er, something... now. If you're coming, you're coming, if you're not, you're not. What'll it be?" |

Devin shifted uncomfortably. Going into some old castle with a couple of strangers? NOT a good idea... Then again, neither was going out into the wilderness and probably being torn to bits. "...Can I just wait here for you guys or something?" she said at last, now chewing the nails on one hand profusely. |

The duck sighed. "Whatever... just don't get yourself lost, okay? I don't want to be worrying about you." Jay said. "Err, see ya, I guess?" Patch added as the two began walking off. |

Devin sighed and sat down. So far, this day sucked. |

The duo walked down another set of seemingly endless hallways. Suddenly, they say something glittering on a desk. "Is that..." Patch started. "You bet it is!" Jay finished, picking up the key. It was once gold, now bronze and slightly dirty with age. One of them picked it up and pocketed it. "I guess we should go back to the door now..." Patch commented. |

After a while, Devin fished inside her bag before pulling out a fairly-sized book, and, opening to her last pagemark, began to read, tapping her foot a bit. |
