I'm not saying that Mario in general is horrible. I'm saying that everyone in this game is horrible but Bowser, and that's only with the right equipment. Basically, you need Bowser on Carrie under the effects of a Courage Shell with a Bone-in Cut to have even a remotely good character. The only reason why the characters seem good are because the enemies are so bad.

See? You can support or demote any character in the game. I'm just saying that Mario serves little practical purpose after the game is done. Same goes for everyone else but Bowser, who can beat up everyone in the pit and Duel of 100. Peach is used for lightweights and girly-girls. She's basically putting the game on easy mode. The Mario Bros are like normal mode, with Luigi having advantages over Mario. Bowser is like making the game go on ultra-crazy mode while the Angry Sun shoots fireballs at you. If you don't understand what I'm saying, that's okay. I don't expect you to. I'm saying that you can hate every last character in the game for something except for "Perfect Bowser".

It is, with all scientific opinion, that I declare Mario is slightly worse than Peach in all respects through and after the game. If Peach could flip, she'd be better than Mario. If Flipping didn't exist, she'd be much better than Mario. However, she takes defensive purposes out of Mario's hands and into her own with the "Umbrella Shield". Mario can...flip where some enemies can follow him, some platforms die, and he gets hurt for apparently no reason. I've gone on and on for how Mario is not the best playable character in the game. I'm not saying he's horrible, that's not what this poll is about. Yet, at the same time, I'm not saying he's any better than mediocre. Mario is Mario, Peach is Peach, Luigi is Mr L and the Green Guy begging for attention, and Bowser is a ball of fat who can't climb and can become the single most destructive force known to man, fungi, Koopa, or whatever other race you happen to be.

I voted for Mario, and I gave reasons over and over again. I am no longer going to despute with you over anything, as I have filled in every hole that I can see. I hate Peach. I like Mario. She just happens to have a few skills that make her more...invaluable than Mario in most, non-Story related instances. Mario's flipping powers were designed for specific areas and secrets, nothing more. I hope you shall see that and quell your lust to prove me wrong.

I voted for Peach. I liked playing as Mario, but only because he could crouch, and he can be used in most situation, and there's more case where you have to use him then the others, so I had to having at hand. In fact, it's more because the game forces you to use him first.

Bowser was a little too slow for my taste...
I liked Luigi better, though.

I agree that Mario is purposely made Star of every game he's playable, which sucks a little for me.
