After a certain amount of time/posts, the user will 'level up'. By this, think of the Paper Mario series...

The user can choose for an increase of hp or mp by 5 points. There is a third choice, since we do not have any Star Power points: we could request 100 coins.

The following should help explain, depending on which idea you prefer, if any. Please keep in mind that by time I mean 'time active in the forum' not 'time registered in the forum'. Posts is just as it says... the amount of posts made total.

Posts:
Level-up at 5000.
Level up at 7500.
Level up at 10000.
Level-up at 12500.
Level-up at 15000.
Level-up at 17500.
Level-up at 20000.
ect...

---

Time:
Level-up at 3 months.
Level-up at 6 months.
Level-up at 9 months.
Level-up at 12 months.
Level-up at 15 months.
Level-up at 18 months.
Level-up at 21 months.
ect...

----

So, is this a good idea or a bad one? Why? And if you like it, which one would you prefer? If you have any issues with any of this, please say so.

I prefer the time method, just because it wouldn't increase spam, just so users could gain a level.

How about score? (I know the idea has been made before) Thoguh it is seemingly invisible, it seems to be the most accurate about who posts good or bad posts.

Agreed with vg. Score is the most useful and accurate, as it gives you no points for posting in Off-Topic or Role-Play Off-Topic, so it would greatly discourage spam. The only problems I see is the fact that score gives you 100 points for every post in your topics, so Fancy Wario (Who made the over 100-page Super Smash Bros. Brawl topic) and other people who make lots of topics would have a really high level. Other than that, score would be great for this.
