So, yesterday my mom bought Ratatouille, and my dad and I watched it with her. On the DVD, there was a preview for some awful movie about a litter of talking golden retriever puppies, (played by little kids who couldn't act) who became a sled dog team. It wasn't even good enough to be in theaters. ("Coming to DVD February 2008!") My mom rolled her eyes and said, "That movie's for six-year-olds."
Which got me thinking. Why is it that people think that because a movie is intended for kids, it doesn't have to be good? What happened to the Disney musicals of the '90s? Those were marketed for kids, and I still love them. ): And Pixar makes great movies that, while kid-friendly, are enjoyable for older people too. Why can't other studios do that?

Because, as Brian Griffin once said, Walt Disney was an outspoken Anti-Semite. So, Disney, ABC, ESPN, Touchstone, Hollywood Pictures, these would all be things to avoid. Go with Warner Bros, they're better!

If you read my post, you'd see that I was praising Disney's films, and was annoyed that other studios try to make kid's movies and completely fail at it.
And really, how does a dead guy being racist affect how good the studio's movies are?

I did too. What I'm complaining about is how pretty much everyone except Disney/Pixar sucks at making kid's movies.

The first Shrek movie was pretty good, but other than that Dreamworks kinda sucks.
See Madagascar, Over the Hedge, Shrek 3, etc.

Well, some DreamWorks Animation movies have some good references to other movies, like Alex the Lion acting like the hero of "Planet of the Apes," after Melman accidentally burnt the Statue of Liberty.
