I looked at the items we have and thought
"Why not items where you could sacrifice your own HP to inflict damage on anothers HP?"
For example:Use an item to take 50 of your HP to take 50 of another, or kill yourself to take another with to the underwhere.
Probably not as good as the elemental items but I would feel guilty if I didn't show this. 
If you can expand on this, that would be great. |

But then people could cheaply make ways around this and drain opponent's hp while restoring their own, which would be all-out cheap. |

The other person would/could do the same. |

I can actually think of a few ways.
You could be a Vampire with low health, and since Vampires can't be killed except without arrows, you could easily abuse the kill user and victim item.
Or, you could use a Super Mushroom so you take no damage.
Or, the simplest way, use an extremely powerful one when your HP is low, bringing your Health from 10 to 0 and your opponent's from 100 to 0, then revive yourself with a Life Shroom and do it to someone else. |
