After an article on the well-known and trusted Destructoid.com blog, Super Smash Bros Brawl, the Nintendo concern itself has not listed Brawl in their "Early 08 Release list". When ask, a spokesperson said that is because Brawl is planned for neither Q1 or Q2 for Europe.
If you excume me, like the source article in the links said, it's wrist slitting time.
Also, Francis, I'd kindly ask you to postpone the digibutte4r Smash Tournament, or, if you can't wait (which I would fully understand since I feel like that right now) at least give me my damn five coins back and erase me from the tourney.
D= Army.

It's like they think you don't know whats going on everywhere else in the world. Its another continent, they will never find out!
I really don't understand the delays... whoever is head of Nintendo-Europe should have been fired a long time ago. In fact, the whole division needs an entire re-fresh. I nominate Zelnor, for kicking euro-ass and taking names.
At least you can look forward to all the other games we have already been playing for months like Zack and Wiki, Ghost Squad, and BWii.

So basically, Nintendo says Smash is not planned for Q2, but Q2 is not finalized yet, so who knows. I can hear them now: "Yeah we might release our most anticipated game ever on time, but hey, we will worry about that later. Right now we have much more important things to do... like... um... Oh look a birdy!" *runs away* |

According to the "Ask Nintendo" section of the Official Nintendo Magazine it's to do with the translation of the game into all the different languages found within the EU. I know it may take a while but look at the time difference on these 2 games (these are the first 2 that i think of when i talk about this):
Zelda Phantom Hourglass: Japan: June 23rd US: Oct 1st EU: Oct 19th
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl: Japan: Sept 28th, 2006 US: April 22nd, 2007 EU: July 27th, 2007 (only 2 months from a whole year difference)
Yes, i can understand it might take time to translate "text-heavy" games, but come on...nearly a whole year!? |

But Brawl is not a text-heavy game. Unless, the cut-scenese have a lot of dialog.. but I doubt it. But that shouldnt even matter... what they should do is translate the game as they make it, and then give it another passover when it's all done. Nintendo your stock is at an all-time high... the Wii and DS are printing money... so hire some more translators for SSBB's sake! If it is a manufacturing problem, then build another factory! This may have worked pre-internet days, but now we are in a global world, there are new expectations. |

My opinion since whenever.
I liked the birdie line, BTW... Why the hell do they have a four-month average for localisation and transaltion ? I could translate Trauma Center all by myself in about under a month... Hell, even SPM should've been transalted faster.
I agree, they should hire more people... And it would've been an enormous PR thing for Nintendo to release Brawl worldwide on one day...
But maybe the Wi-Fi Fire would sink the internet. XD
EDIT. Aside from Zack and Wiki (Release January 18th, You: December 7 th or earlier, difference: One month) or Harvest Moon (February / Q2) which you got /shoudl have gotten in NOVEMBER (difference: 3 - 5 FREAKING MONTHS) there's not much to buy. Meh. At least I can save my allowance for my drivers license, then. (No, I only turn sweet 16 next year, but it'll cost about 1500 - 3000 € to make it with 17.) |

I know, i was just responding to what you said about the delay time in general. The fact of SSBB not being a text-heavy game, makes the irritation of the delay time a hell of a lot worse because there doesn't need to be as much time spent on translation as there would be a pokemon game for example. Hopefully Nintendo wont set the final release date too far back. |

That's really irritating. I live in the Netherlands, which means that I will, too, not get to play Brawl until July. I'd help them translate if I could. |

Have you actually read the other posts? It says that Europe can still get their Brawl from April on, which is pretty much standard for NoE's doings. |

Nothing is confirmed yet, but currently it is not planned for Q2 (that means July or later). That doesnt mean it can't be planned for Q2, just that it isn't yet. |
