Current Poll results:
4 people support all of this, 2 people support none of it.
7 people support the Dump 2.0, 4 are against.
6 people like the Casual RP idea, 3 people are against it.
Since RPOT is basically just Off-Topic with alts and the occasional plot that sinks after only a few posts, I say we enable alts in Off-Topic and make a "Casual Role-Playing" forum. This forum would basically be for being in-character, having in-character discussions with other RP characters, develop plots that cover multiple threads, etc, without stuff like, say, Enigma's alt Asplodin Fat Albrt Mudkip posting something about there being too many llamas in his salad. He could then post stuff like that in Off-Topic, which should have alts, as stated before.
Also........I'm hesitant to post this, but.......
The Dump 2.0. Bring back the Dump, but make it WAY worse. Add alts, and make pretty much nothing against the rules there. Flooding, pervertedness, spam........since it's all been affecting OT and RPOT a lot, and since OT and RPOT are, contrary to popular belief, NOT SPAM FORUMS, we should divert the actual spam elsewhere. Make it so that all topics are automatically deleted 48 hours after the topic's last post, to save major bandwiths. Also, there should be no post count, like in the original Dump there. The only things considered "bad" in The Dump 2.0 would be forum borking and [M]-worthy pictures.

Too much confusion, and honestly, why would you want to combine boards? If you put alts into Off-topic, no more off-topic. You might as well say "Get rid of Off-topic and make a dump lol." |

I don't think alts should be allowed in forums outside the Role-Playing ones. I believe they were made to help people be more-in-character while role-playing; not to function as secondary profiles/accounts.
Maybe "Off-Topic" could be renamed "Casual Discussion", "Role-Playing Off-Topic" could be renamed "Casual Role-Playing" or "Role-Playing Lite", and a "Serious Discussion" forum could be added to balance the "Casual" and "General" discussion forums out?
"General Discussion" is more a place for general, normal topics, and "Off-Topic" is more a place for simple, fun conversation. If a truly serious forum, involving politics, science, religion and debate could be added, there would be a balance... two on each ends of the topic-content spectrum, and one in the middle. It would create a balance that would be healthy for the community, I think. |

I'm not the person to spam, but seeing that kind of thing is funny and it takes out the need to spam anywhere else. No post count would prevent people for spamming and getting posts for it, and 48 hours would make sure the unused topics died quickly. I actually agree with it.
But no alts in Off-Topic. |

Why would you want to seperate them? They're exactly the same, except one has alts and a bit of plot, which sinks easily. And the plot part could easily be put in the Casual Role-Playing forum.

Wait, what? How would alts in Off-Topic mean no more off-topic? It would still be the casual, semi-epic and semi-spammy place it's always been. I'm not seeing your point here.
Anyway, I kinda like Lord Crump's idea. Something about the name "Off-Topic" seems to make everybody think "SPAM HERE" when it's NOT a spam forum. Casual Discussion would be a great new name. Though, I don't see much need for a "Serious Discussion" forum, because I suppose General Discussion kind of covers both serious and General topics. |

So why keep OT and RPOT apart if that's the only difference? Why have to go to a different forum to post with an alt? |

How about I throw in my idea of how it could work?
Dump 2.0 would be hidden, and only appear to people who joined a usergroup for it. That way, it wouldn't bug everyone.
RPOT should be added to the same section as OT, and a Casual RP would be created to replace it.

I like the Dump 2.0 being a usergroup-only type thing. Also, the [M] tag would be working in Dump 2, so any non-[M]arked perversion topics would be against the few rules there. |
