Well Christmas is over, and now you got a bunch of gift cards. Now you are thinking. "Well damn, now I have to spend this $30-$40 gift card at Wal-Mart and Wal-Mart sucks." Well here is your solution, why not buy one of those numerous DS games you may have missed. Here I will compile my list of the best of the not played. I'm only listing games that I have played myself, so if a game isn't on the list, that's why. LET'S BEGIN!
#5: Chocobo Tales
This game should have done so much better, but I barely no anyone who has it. Don't be mistaken by the kiddie look, this is the best minigame compilation on the DS. There isn't much story, but the 3D graphics and classic FF tunes help to keep the presentation tight throughout. There is even a card game which can be played online, and in my opinion is one of the best games on the WiFi network. If you like minigames or are just looking for something different, definiely pick this up.
#4: Picross
I believe this may have been mentioned before? Anyway, Francis is right, this is a great game. The presentation is pretty sterile in my opinion, but the game itself is very addictive. It's kinda like Sudoku of Sudoku could hold your attention for more than 15 minutes. Think of it like Minesweeper but instead of not getting hit, you are trying to make a picture. If you want a puzzle fix and you are tired of Tetris, pick this game up.
#3: Puzzle Quest
Another great game that although is now on almost every gaming console imaginable, is still not being given enough credit. The game is simply amazing as it seamlessly blends both RPG and Puzzle elements into on one ungodly package. You play ti like bejeweled, but gems have different effects like causing damage or gathering mana. The story is pretty good, if a bit generic, and decisions you make even within the first half hour will impact the stories conclusion. This is a great package, and even though they were foolish to not include wifi, if you want to go console and spring for the 360 version you can play people over Xbox Live. I myself prefer the DS version just for the portability, but you can't go wrong with either choice.
#2: Hotel Dusk
When Phoenix Wright came out people started to think, "Hey, maybe Adventure games can make a come back." Shortly after that they decided to not buy any adventure games unless the lawyers name was slapped on it. Sure most of them weren't good, but Hotel Dusk was a gem. Everything from the great art design to the magnificent story make Dusk a winner in the genre, and if you are tired of Phoenix's antics it is worth a look. Hell, it's worth a look if you are literate in the english language. Get it.
#1: Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime
Oh no, a surprise perhaps? Maybe that is because in my opinion, this is the most overlooked DS game ever. I have heard of barely anyone who has this, and it is a damn shame. It is basically a simple platformer starring a slime from the DQ series named Rocket. But no my fellow gamers, this is not where the true legs of this game lie, no it lies within the tanks. In possible the most creative gameplay design Square has had in years, their real time tank battles is quiet possible one of the most addictive multiplayer experiences ever. If only it had online, maybe it would have gotten the praise it deserves. Every item in the game is potential ammo, every enemy in the game become part of your crew, and the whole package is full of Square throwbacks like tank names such as Chrono Twigger and even an extremely out of place appearance Cid of FF fame. The AI of your crew in the tank battles is great, the enemies will put up a pretty tough fight as the game progresses, and the tank battles are just the one of the most addictive experiences on the DS that you will force your friends to buy it. The 2D graphics are colorful and full of life, the music is packed with classic DQ tunes, and the whole package for around $30 or less is one of the greatest deals on the system. I've beaten this game all the way through twice, and I'm going for a third. THAT IS HOW FUN IT IS. If you want a truly new and unique gameplay experience on the DS, look no further than Rocket Slime. |

I got that used. It's pretty sub-par. I mean it does have kind of a retro feel, it just doesn't follow up with it though.
Also I think Club House games might be good, I don't have it though so I didn't add it. |

I definitely agree with Picross. I loved it, especially the multiplayer (which is, luckily, single card). |
