Me and a friend of mine are "Game makers"... and use a program called game maker.
We haven't made much, because we can't make any good graphics, and I don't do that amazingly well at programming, either. So I was wondering, along with the topic question, does anyone here do good spriting (making original characters)?
I mean real, original characters. And I mean GOOD spriting, too. At least game-boy advance style (the simplest style with full color I can think of), with proper shading. We'd love to recruit you as our little over-the-internet helper. Of course we can't PAY anyone... we haven't made any money yet n_n
well sorry to try and be a recruiter. If anyone wants info on how to get in on our little game making company (for any part, be it music composer, character maker, scenery editer, etc.) then PM me.
back to the topic: how many people can actually make games, whether through a program, or through actual coding, like C++? |

I have the game maker program. Haven't actually made a game in forever. All of them are crappy anyway. |

I was supposed to get Flash for my last birthday, but I got a tablet instead. I'm still happy. |

I once made a game demo while goofing off in a business computer programming class. I even was able to adapt it to where it fit the conditions for a final project that was given for the class. I made it using Visual Basic, but now I don't have the program nor the money to get it.
The game demo itself was for a tactics type of RPG (or whatever you call it where it's like a combination of an RPG and chess). I had gotten it to where there were three spells that could be used. There was a fire spell that could melt ice/snow and start fires. There was an ice spell that could cover an area in snow, put out fires, and freeze water. There was also a lightning spell that could start fires and would travel through water. Heck, I even got it to where the spells would do different amounts of damage in special spaces. I had even been planning for how I would have the finished version of the game be like. I had thought of how to handle status effects for both characters AND spaces. I had thought about classes. I had thought about races. I used to use my graphing calculator to jot down various ideas I had gotten for the game I planned to make one day. I could create a new topic to tell you about the various ideas that I had come up with for my dream game. |

I made a bunch of Ti-83 BASIC games. Some of them actually made it onto an official Ti-Calculator CD bundled with new calculators.
I also made a PC game called Battle-League, which was kinda like Smash-Bros, except it is played with a keyboard and mouse, and you have a gun. 4-player over a local network. |

My brother's friend made Mario on his graphing calculator. He copied it onto my brother's calculator, which I may be inheriting. |
