But they did copy Nintendo's idea to have a motion-sensing controller and later claim that Microsoft was copying them.
And to think that the reason Sony got into the game console business can be traced back to Nintendo. Nintendo had went to Sony for help with CD-reading technology, but they betrayed Sony and went with Phillips instead. Sony and Nintendo could have worked together.
Also, there was a time when Microsoft and Nintendo could have joined up, but that's a tale for another time. |
A lot of companies sided with Sony due to Nintendo's strict censorship rules, like Squaresoft.(No blood, swearing, or religious imagery just to name a few)...
So they did kind of hurt themselves. |

Ok...how may times to I have to explain it's not copying.
And that isn't the reason Sony got into the gaming business. Anyone with half a brain could have seen how popular they had become. And not only that but Sony makes TV. And guess what you need to play a console with? |

I don't know about you, but it does seem that Sony added the motion-sensing just because they found out that Nintendo had done it.

So let me try to interpret your reasoning...
Step 1: Make TVs
Step 2: Get good at making TVs
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Make a gaming console and PROFIT!
Is that pretty much it?
Oh, and one last thing that I want to add.

Would you like to start a debate on the subject of whether or not Sony copied Nintendo? We could have it in the general discussion forum. I think a debate might be just the thing to show how serious the general discussion forum is supposed to be. |
