Me and Medikoopa have been in a state of Shroob obsession lately (O RLY? xD; ), so we started compiling all sorts of theories and ideas we had for the Shroobs...
Here ya go. FEAR OUR OBSESSIVE CREATIVITY AN' STUFF. >D

---

The Shroob Royal Family

The Shroob Royal Family are the leaders of the entire Shroob empire. All Shroobs are completely and extremely loyal to the Royal Family. They are all, in the end, wholly dedicated to the conscious movement of the Shroob empire itself- to conquer and dominate any and all who are not born of their swarm.
The Royal Family lives in their citadel on the home planet. From there, they control the combined domination efforts of the entire empire.
As is the tradition with most royal families, the oldest child is the crown royal sibling and first in line for the throne, and the ruling power is passed down hereditarily. No difference is spared between the genders, however; to the Shroobs, power is ultimate, and the ruling family was first elected to their position due to their prowess in domination. They have never let that deciding factor slip since.
In terms of rank and power within the family itself, the highest rank is always bestowed to the child of the late monarch who rose to power. The second rank is bestowed to the spouse of the crown child, who marries into the family. The lesser ranks are assigned to the royal children by age, before moving outside of the immediate family (aunts, cousins, etc.).

Note: the Shroobs do not generally assign names to individuals; the same title is usually applied to one of a high enough status to earn one, which can be changed depending on rank. For example, the eldest child of the royal children would be known as ‘Prince’ or ‘Princess’ Shroob; but, upon their coronation, they would become either ‘King’ or ‘Queen’ Shroob.

The following details the current Royal Family.

King Shroob

The highest-ranked member of the Royal Family and absolute ruler. King Shroob is the husband of Queen Shroob, and the father of the three royal children. He is cunning, warlike, vicious, sadistic, and greedy. He commands the armada’s entire loyalty and power, and rules those he conquers with an iron fist- a deadly force he will not hesitate to use to dispose of any who dare oppose him.
Out of all of his traits, the King’s deadliest factor is his die-hard domination drive. He will not give up; he will not let the armada be defeated at any costs.
He obviously possesses the most elite guards and weaponry of the entire Royal Family. His weapon of choice is a laser-powered blade, which can shoot blasts akin to a Shroob’s ray gun as well as function as a melee weapon.

Queen Shroob

The second-in-command of the Royal Family. Queen Shroob is the wife of King Shroob, and the mother of the three royal children. In comparison to her husband, she is more refined and much more vain; however, she possesses just as much of a vicious and ferocious temper as her husband, as is just as dangerous.
She specializes in terms of handling ‘vermin’- capture, torture, disposal, the whole package.
Like her youngest daughter, Queen Shroob utilizes her battle-throne as her primary weapon in battle, as well as her scepter.
She keeps a Spiny Shroopa as her personal pet, which she treats rather like a beloved housecat (aside from the petting, of course; she can more often be seen feeding it the remnants and Vim of unfortunate souls). The Shroopa hasn’t gained her favor for no reason- it is special in that its bite can drain Vim, similar to a vampire.

Prince Shroob

The oldest royal child, and first in line for the crown. He is the son of King and Queen Shroob, and the older brother of the two Princesses. Like his mother, he is slightly more-level headed and elegant, but just as vicious and deadly as his father. He is also very strict and orderly- he will not stand for a single soldier standing even an inch out of position- and very commanding.
Prince Shroob is a master of tactics and an excellent military leader. In fact, as part of his readying for becoming King, he trains the Royal Army back on the Shroobs’ home planet.
Prince Shroob wields a laser-sword similar to his father’s. He also keeps his own personal pet- a Shroob Rex, faster than most, which is capable of firing laser-like blasts from its mouth, and has larger wings, enabling him to ride it like a sort of horse.

Princess Shroob the Elder

The second-oldest royal child, and elder of the twin Princesses. She is the daughter of King and Queen Shroob, and the sister of both Prince Shroob and Princess Shroob the Younger. She mostly inherited her father’s domineering and bloodthirsty temper (along with his looks).
The Elder Princess is a powerhouse of physical strength. She and her guards are capable of unleashing devastating assaults against their enemies. She has been known to decimate a target in a manner of seconds.
Aside from her UFO squadron, the Elder Princess is a breeder of Shroob Chomps, and keeps the most vicious ones as her own attack pack.

Princes Shroob the Younger

The youngest royal child, and the younger of the twin Princesses. She is the daughter of King and Queen Shroob, and the younger sister of both Prince Shroob and Princess Shroob the Elder. She is very like her mother.
The Younger Princess is known for being the brains amongst the Royal Family. She is an expert inventor and scientist, having spearheaded the development and creation of several mechanical and biotechnical breakthroughs for the Shroob empire, with new weaponry and even species amongst them.
Like her mother, she utilizes her weapon-outfitted throne in battle.

(Moar coming soon. >.> )

A Look Into the Shroobs

Table of Contents:
Section 1: Shroobification Process
Section 2: Shroob Diet
Section 3: Shroobified Species
Section 4: Shroob Hierachy
Section 5: Shroob Positions
Section 6: Shroob Development

--------------------------------------------------

Section 1: Shroobification Process
Step 1: Vim collection
Step 2: Mushroom Conversion
Step 3: Catching Victims
Step 4: Applying the Shroobification Goo

Step 1: Vim collection

Vim varies in color depending on what creature it is drawn from, but it is usually a dark crimson. Yes... Vim is blood, also known as one's "life-force". Well, its mostly blood. Its actually a liquidfied form of all the vital components in sustaining organic life.

It is important to the Shroobs. It has many uses. It is a main component for UFO fuel and it is also food. The substance, without the chemical treatment required to make it compatible with their UFO's engines, is considered to be a delicacy amoung Shroobs.

The problem is... Vim can only be collected from other species. So, they genetically engineered trees which would capture and drain the substance from the victims. They also created trees which mimicked the appearance of native foliage to simply capture other species, but that's for another section. The Vim-draining trees inject a chemical which converts the victim's insides to be liquidfied (and thus, becomes vim). A by-product of this chemical causes the remains to shrivel up into a Shroob Mushroom.

Step 2: Mushroom Conversion

The Shroob Mushrooms - the remains of creatures both sentient and non that they have drained of their vim - are then gathered and placed in a storage pod. The Mushrooms are not gathered for consumption, no. They are gathered for the creation of a special chemical substance. The mushrooms are liquidfied after their spores are removed. These spores are then treated with chemicals and then placed in the Shroob Mushroom-liquid and blended. This substance is a purple goo which is used to create 'canon fodder' Shroob-soldiers. Examples of this are Spiny Shroopas, Shroob Chomps, Shroob Rexs, Tashroobas, and Lakitufos.

The goo has a psychological effect as well as altering one's physical appearance. This is due to the chemicals that are applied to the spores. The victim's mind is warped so that the victim understands and speaks Shroobish and will serve the Shroobs loyaly. Of course, since they serve the Shroobs, they look down upon all other species, just as the Shroobs do.

Step 3: Catching Victims

There are many different ways to do this. One such way is to force victims to come at gunpoint. Another is by the Catch Trees. The Catch Trees used to be normal trees found on whatever world the Shroobs have invaded until a special sap is injected. The sap causes the trees to become sticky and to be able to move their branches. They immediately take a hold of any moving life-form that is not Shroobish. They can tell this because they have a sort of DNA-scanner in their bark which allows them to tell if the would-be victim has been Shroobified or if they are a Shroob. If so, they leave them alone. The moment they sense a Shroob or Shroob-like being, they will release the victim into the Shroobs' clutches.

Step 4: Applying the Shroobification Goo

There are two ways to do this. One is to simply lock the victim into a pod and fill the pod with the goop. Another is to take a syringe and inject the substance directly into the body. Both ways work perfectly, unless the victim is allergic to mushrooms. In that case, they are horribly mutated.

It is important to note that not all prisoners are converted into Shroob-soldiers. Some are sent for Vim-draining. Some are killed and consumed, as the Shroobs are a carnivorous race. Some, however, are kept alive for the sole purpose of breeding, like how humans keep pigs and cows in barns for breeding more for food. An uncommon practice among Shroobs - the real Shroobs - is to keep some creatures as pets. This is normally done with Spiny Shroopas and Shroob Chomps, but it is very rare for a Shroob to keep a non-Shroobified person as a pet.

--------------------------------------------------

Section 2: Shroob Diet

Shroobs are carnivorous. They will eat any species (anything other than Shroobs), so thus they look upon all other races as vermin or cattle.

One thing in particular that they like to consume is vim. Some sorts of vim - Luma Vim, to be specific - are so hard to come by that they are reserved for the Shroob Royal Family.

--------------------------------------------------

Section 3: Shroobified Species

This is a list of the various races that we have observed to be Shroobified. Included in the list are appearances and behavior, as well as, in some cases, combative skills.

Combative Uses: Due to transformation capablilities, they can do more than just headbutt or biting. In combat, they usually jump up and shapeshift into either a Thwomp, a balloon (explained by level of intelligence), or a Spiny. As a Thwomp or balloon, they fall down onto their opponent. As a spiny, they fall down on their opponent and then circle around, in an attempt to do further damage as well as possible poisoning (see Spiny Shroopa for explaination on poisoning).

Name: Spiny
Shroobified Name: Spiny Shroopa
Appearance: Shell has a purple carapace, violet spikes, and ice-blue plastron. Dark gray scales, acid-yellow eyes, hind legs are longer than forelegs. Purple boots.

Behavior: Above average intelligence. Some are geniuses, but not all of them are. Normal Magikoopa behavior.
Combative Uses: Almost the same as Magikoopas, except instead of the normal blue squares, red triangles, and yellow circles, they use purple heptagons, violet hexagons, and ice-blue pentagons.

Name: Lakitu
Shroobified Name: Lakitufo
Appearance: Normal scales, but two antenna are sticking out of their head and they have red-backed shells. Also, they ride UFOs.
Behavior: Average intelligence.
Combative Uses: Normal Lakitu behavior, except they use a small control-pad on the side of the UFO to beam down Spiny Shroopas instead of just throwing them.

Behavior: Too big to move. Probably non-sentient, but arguable.
Combative Uses: ... Its a BOMB-OMB! What do you think, smart one?

Name: Wiggler
Shroobified Name: Swiggler
Appearance: Red antenna, green skin, yellow spots, black eyes with red pupils. Purple feet with yellow toes. Rear antenna can connect to a pipe-line which two UFOs can hook up to for fuel.
When angry: Orange skin with yellow spots. Yellow antenna. Black eyes with yellow pupils.
When poisoned: antenna turn red and droop. Black eyes with red pupils. Green skin and white spots.

Combative Uses: Normally not used for attack. Just for fuel-creation. When angred, it charges at its opponent.
Part in fuel creation: It drinks vim, which its body then treats with special chemicals to create fuel.

Name: Yoshi
Shroobified Name: Yoob
Appearance: Looks like Barney, but wears blue shoes and has black eyes with red pupils. I'm dead serious.
Behavior: Presumed to be bestial.
Combative Uses: Consumes anything, but seems to have a dislike for Koopas. The Yoob can convert whatever it eats into Yoob eggs, and thus possibly make more Yoobs.

Name: Mushroomer (aka: Toad)
Shroobified Name: Shroob
Appearance: Looks just like a normal Shroob.
