None. F.L.U.D.D. was a useless gimmick that made Sunshine a worse platformer (I'm looking at you, Hover Nozzle), Yoshi ridable was...exhilerating in Super Mario 64, but the Yo'ster would probably be in the same position as the Red Star if he was in: used for one level, then forgotten (that's almost how it was in Sunshine).
Punching and Kicking would've ruined the whole "Star Spin" formula, so that's out. And I much prefer the long jump to the belly slide...I don't understand how penguins do it.
If there were one thing I'd add to the game, it would be more mini-games. Ray Surfing, while fun, loses its edge after a while. The trash game was...well, awful. And racing the Spooky Speedster was a blast, but again, loses its funness over time. I'm talking things like a Slot Machine in Toy Time (think Shy Guy's Toybox's Slot Machine, but more fun), a Boss Endurance level, a few "Quick Draw" styled games with Luigi (Who gets the Power Star Luigi found? Shake the Wiimote faster when the Luma spins to get it), and more! Sunshine had some fun with those "Outer Space" levels where Mario is floating in the middle of nowhere, and the "Fruit basketball/football" things in the plaza. Why not more of those for some fun? |
