I think it has something to do with the fact that people are born with the need to complain about things. Whether it be the government, or the guy next to them, they need to complain about it to feel good about themselves.
Yeah, people complain. Discuss. And complain about me making this topic. |

well, I wanted to make a topic complaining about people who complain, but instead I made it a discussion. Not a complain... ish... thing... |

People complain because they want something to happen, that is not happening in hopes that saying something will get it to happen. Complaining usually does not involve any action, until they are accused of complaining, and then they either shut-up, or take action.
For example, I am complaining that you post too many "discuss this" topics, without actually discussing yourself. Which is borderline spamming. |

If people don't completely derail the topic, I generally post my thoughts later. It keeps me from having to waste time trying to discuss a topic people are obviously not interested in. |

I think that these "Discuss This" topics kind of keep the forum alive and running. It gives people something to talk about. How can that be spamming? |

People complain because it gives them something to talk about. People can't sit with their own thoughts for more than 3 minutes. Something has to be happening. |

I complain because something needs to be fixed but I can't do anything about it. |

It's just human nature to complain. Like vg said, people like to swhare their thoughts, whether it be swearing your head off at the blatant unfairness of the single-player Mario Party 8 (complaining), or a nice discussion like this. |
