I think so.
I also have a theory that the Mr. L persona is still alive, buried somewhere deep in Luigi's mind, waiting for the chance to strike. It would be a good plot for the next game; Luigi and Mr. L sharing one body, constantly battling for control of it. Kinda like that Prince of Persia game.
And it would be the perfect opportunity for a "stop hitting yourself" joke. |

But Intelligent Systems is an internal Nintendo developer. They are quite literally a first-party team.
Anyway, back on topic, seeing Mr. L return in ANY form would bring me great joy...Luigi as a villain just works so well. |

I've said this before, but one of the best things about Mr. L was that it gave Luigi the chance to be a total dick and get away with it. |
