Recently, whenever my Wii is playing a disc game (NOT a VC game or just being on the main menu with no disc), every minute or so you can hear this low-pitched buzzing noise coming from the Wii. It's getting on my nerves, and I'm starting to get worried.

It's the disk drive, it needs to run constantly when loading something or attempting to stream something from a disk. I get this sometimes, it's nothing to worry about.

The beeping and scratching is normal, I'm talking about a noise that sounds like a dying frog's jammed in the disc drive. And it only started last week, and I've had my Wii for over a year now.

But if Merlink says it's normal, i guess I'll just cope with it.

I think it's normal indeed. If it isn't, open up your Wii, there might be a dying frog jammed inside the disc drive.

Update: It's still making he noise. It started this month after not making noise for the past year, and the noise is just so obnoxious and unnatural. I can't enjoy playing a game when my game system is breaking the sound barrier.

I'm seriously considering having it fixed or something.
