Agreed.
What I think is the greatest downfall is that SMG retains Sunshine's stupidest feature - failing a challenge (such as collecting purple coins or racing a penguin) = dead Mario. |

That was annoying,not to mention you need time leftover to get the star on timed purple comets. |

There were penguin races in Mario 64, 100 coin collecting, and other challenges.
