*fiddles with index cards* I guess the first thing we do is set up the Rogueport set backstage... and I'll go out in front and just verbally explain the backstory with the letter and everything, and when the curtains open we just start right out with a song when Mario gets to Rogueport for the first time.

Musicals usually start with a big opening number, y'know? So if we actually started with the scene where Mario gets the letter, it'd kinda be a dull opening that doesn't hook the audience as much as a big song. *pushes up glasses*

By the way, everyone's final roles are listed in the signup thread...

So, let's see. Maybe a song about how Rogueport is a dangerous town? With a little bit of backstory, talking about the legends regarding the Door a bit.
Y'know, kinda start it out with a mysterious and suspenseful feel. Like, at first it appears like he's just about to go pick up the treasure... then in the very beginning of the song, reveal that Peach is nowhere to be found... then talk about the dangers of the thieves in the town, then about the mysterious history of the town... kind of an escalating sense of trouble, y'know, like, getting the treasure isn't going to be as simple as they thought, and there's going to be more to it, too.
And have the dialogue between Crump and Goombella go on as part of the intro song.

So, we start and sing the song to this music.
Then right after that, Mario and Goombella go to Frankly and do that whole dialogue, except that one isn't with singing.

... so who do we need for these scenes? None of my characters come in 'till later, but I'll get in the chorus and do some lyrics here...

Parakarry is flying to deliver the letter and starts singing a bit and also talks about Rougeport. Then he delivers the letter, Luigi opens it, reads it and continues Parakarry's song.
