I voted for I don't know because some games were better, but some games were worse too... It's really hard to make a decision since there are so many different games. |

My god YES! Super Mario 64 is better than Super Mario Sunshine. Super Mario Bros 3 is better than New Super Mario Bros. So is Super Mario World. Do I even have to mention Super Mario Bros?
Pokemon R/B/Y are much better than the games after them. Quit the gimmicks and let us have good old fashioned fun!
Starfox 64 is a heck of a lot better than the gamecube titles.
Super Smash Bros Melee, Metroid Prime, and Super Paper Mario are the ONLY exceptions |

The old games were classic, but most don't hold a candle to today's games. |

The old games like Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario 64 came before people started worrying about graphics, and hence, have great gameplay, and are by far better. |

I don't think so. While a lot of the classic games were good, they really aren't as good as todays games/upcoming games. I mean really, you can't compare Final Fantasy I to Final Fantasy XIII. Or The Legend of Zelda to LoZ Twilight Princess. |

Well, play a more modern version of a game, then play another old game like it. M'aiq has tried this many times:
Halo 3 Beta ---> Halo
"What the crap?"
Halo ---> GoldenEye
"Wait...was the autoaim in this game REALLY this bad?"
Perfect Dark Zero ---> Perfect Dark
"Ugh...this is just too weird..."
Bomberman 64 ---> Bomberman(SNES)
"What the hell is this supposed to be?"
Oblivion ---> Morrowind
"These two games are nothing alike, so no use bothering..." |

Yeah. Another problem is graphics though. Like, when I used to play PS3 nonstop and I beat all of my PS3 games, I went back to playing MegaMan Legends (best ps1 game ever), and then it got hard to see things in the game for a while since I was so used to the 7th gen graphics. |

Exactly, as time goes on, expectations increase. So when you go back to play 'tha most osum game evar' 5 years later, you find that you had hyped it up to compare it to the games you love today. And because of that, you don't enjoy it nearly as much as you should. |

That's like saying developers don't improve overtime from experience.
I mean look at the original Megaman, now look at Gears of War. Yeah, I know. |

M'aiq doesn't understand why people hype up GoW so much... |
