The bold was actually my idea, not yours. T_T
And replacing Off-Topic with The Dump 2.0 is a terrible idea. We need The Dump 2.0 to not be the most active forum, and have it so you don't have to go through waves of spam to reach decent, Off-Topic-worthy topics. If the only active forum is one where spam is actually ENCOURAGED, then Digibutt will lose a lot more members, including me. |

Heres the problem, some mebers are just moree spammy then others. It's like being short or tall. It's hard to change. If we get rid of OT, the spam will continue, just in other forums. |

This is not true. Spam in other forums would not be tolerated at all.
If OT were removed one of three things would happen:
1) Members would stay and post in other forums, but obviously activity would decrease
2) Members would spam in other forums and be banned.
3) Members would leave because they are no longer entertained 24/7 |

I've seen forums work perfectly for years (they still do) and they do not have a spam forum, and any spam is strictly punished. The members will nag, maybe some will leave, but they will return and accustom themselves. It's a humanity thing - we do not like changes. I think we should nuke OT or at least enforce stronger rules and regularly delete it, like every two weeks.
Seriously, get rid of it. |
