The forums is a message board, so a mini-set in everyone's profiles just seems redundant.
Chat is already on the forum too, and it would be too fast-paced for profiles.
Blog allows easy access and viewing. As well as a much more neater system (neater as in organized). |

Message Boards can easily become spammed, and full of crap that you really don't want in there.
As for a chat, we already have a Digi-Chat, so why should we let everyone have their own?
I think a blog sounds a bit more practical, and better controlled. :3 |
