Hmm, I'm not particularly sure where to start. I know a review has to be a huge wall of text to be good, so here it goes.

Story: I don't know HOW many times I said. 'Woah, didn't see that coming.' Though the plot is sometimes easy to descipher with the information the give you, that is, if you are exceptional at detective work. Basically though, you're in a monster scouting challenge, but uh.... something kind of goes wrong.

Grammar:

When do you include Grammar in a review anyway? It's something already expected in a game! Well, if it doesn't show up, THAT'S when ya put it in a review. Afew examples of bad grammar is when you flee a battle, and it says '*name*'s team flee!' That may be the only one I can think of right now, but that appears EVERY time you flee a battle. EVERY time. It gets annoying after a while. Ofcourse, if something ends with 'us', then the plural for it is *word*usi, which I don't see commonly in video games. For example, it may say for plural of incarnus, 'incarni'.

7.5

Graphics: I'm not really a sucker for graphics, but these are niiice. It's better than phantom hourglass. In that game, when you get the hourglass, the graphics are terrible. But this game has no bad graphics anywhere. The only problem is that the characters are the exception to that. They're outlined in black at all times. Why is this so bad? Sometimes, when you look at a person closely, you think when they turn 90 degrees they're going to dissapear. (Like paper mario when he uses slim.) And for dragon monsters, and their wings, that is actually the case.
Overall, good graphics for a DS game, but the characters....

8.5

Gameplay:

No real puzzles. The only puzzle is a short maze that has a key to it anyways. It's an rpg monster collection game. The real reason of difficulty is training your guys. But the fighting is so exhillerating... atleast, it is when you want to 'scout' (scouting is the new catching) a monster. But though the gameplay isn't all that perfect, it's somehow addicting. It's probably the excellent plot, that you just want to get to an advancement of.

6.3

Length: YES I got super Mario galaxy!

Three days later....

YES! I beat super Mario galaxy!

See that? Games have sucky lengths nowadays. Even if you get luigi on Galaxy, and beat it with him, there really is no more than five days of playing. I played this game since last saturday at.... this exact time actually. And considering it was interrupted by school, homework, and other useless stuff, let me tell you how long I've played this game. (I just beat the last boss.).... 43 1/2 hours. THAT is how long it took me. And I sped through it too. You get stuck on bosses usually. The first few bosses are easy, especially if you use some strategy, but that third boss CAN be tedious. But the other bosses are good. Good enough for you to be not strong enough, and forced into a training spree. If you're not strong enough for the elite four in a pokemon game, you probably think it's too late to become stronger.

10.0

Concept:

Actually, I'm focusing mainly on one thing. This game is more brutal than pokemon.

Pokemon plots usually go like this. O NOEZ! SOMEONE IS STEALING POKEMON!!!111@@@, or OH NOEZ! THE WORLD IS GOING TO FLUD!/BURN!, or the occasional, OH, NOEZ! HE WANTS TO REWRITE TEH UNIVURSE SO HE AM KING!

Now this plot is more than that. It actually chains small pieces of the game together, in an epic of collective fate. More brutal than pokemon. Hell, in this game, it's not even a CRIME to steal another person's monster. My friend got his own monster stollen from him himself, actually. I for one don't TRY to scout opponent's monsters, but sometimes when they try to get your own, you're pissed at them enough.

It IS alot lot like pokemon, where you're just competing to win something, and something else happens, but the main focus in this game isn't competition. This game is actually about the 'save the world' part, with the tournament being your alternate activity. And Pokemon makes everything look nice and happy, no evil hideous monsters. Dragon quest monsters..... Wow. It's hard not to spoil in reviews.

9.2

Overall, I give this game an 8.5.

What did Drawn to life get from me? I'll edit this post and see.

I CAN CAST TEH SPELL!

Yes, it is. :( And the game is the pure opposite. May I say... straight.

The game is way better than the commercial, I swear. You'll love it. I don't know a single person that got this game and regretted it. Frankly, I like any game made by square enix. Ninteno sometimes slips up, like new super mario bros, or they make a game last fifteen hours like galaxy. Sqaure enix always makes decent, long games.

And gay commercials.

Rpgs are hard. I went through underleveled, and I was stuck on bosses many times forcing me to go on training missions. I'm slow in rpgs too.
