The live-action one. According to current plot information, it's going to star a highschool student named Goku that learns he's an alien and he has to stop the evil alien Piccolo from obtaining the Dragonballs. This could either be epic, or epic fail. Let's discuss.
NEWS:
Release Date: Worldwide on August 15, 2008.
CAST EXAMPLES:
Goku
He will not be wearing a wig, because the filmmakers believe his hair is similiar enough to Goku's.
Bulma
Her hair will be changed, from what I know.
Piccolo
Piccolo will be, for the most part, the same in appearance as he was in the show.

Lets hope they have GOOD actor this time, with epic effects. Seems like there is an original character for the film, named Teto.
when is it supposed to come out? |

I believe the people that worked on the Spiderman films are doing the effects. It's coming out on April, 15. |

It's not based off of the Frezia saga, it's the orginal Dragon Ball. |

My bad; the movie is scheduled for August 15. Sorry for the misreading; that release date makes alot more sense, considering that there haven't been any ads or promotional material for it yet. |

It could. There's been absolutely terrible movies based off of other things, and Dragonball may end up being one of those terrible movies. Like the Super Mario Bros. film. However, it could also turn out decent. Now, I'm certainly not expecting a great movie; instead, I think it will end up being one of those "cheesy, yet ok" films, like Transformers.
Now, of course, that's the average critic opinion; fans will, most likely, absolutely hate it. As the case is with most cross-media films, this will only be "based" on Dragonball. Meaning, it will keep most of the qualities intact, but it could also have big changes, as well. Such as "Goku going to highschool"; that has already caused a stir in the DB and DBZ fanbase. I usually don't judge as a fan, and judge as a movie-goer.
I'll wait until I see it to form my opinion on it. I'm just hoping that it doesn't bomb, so that we can get a sequel with Vegeta and Freeza. |

For their sake, it better not suck! Otherwise, I'm just gonna not bother with it. Maybe Toonami and Toonami Jetstream might have interviews with the actors, with their takes on the characters they portray. |
