Okay, i've had various forums, and I never used such a system. Well, we had a strike system, but after you got a certain amount of them, you'd be banned. This would actually help a forum like this. I mean, the reason people even spam is because they know even if they get jailed, they'd be back eventually. Trust me, I know this from experience. So, I honestly think this would remove the majority of spam. Now then, I know only like 3 of you would approve of this idea, but i'm still going to suggest this. Lastly, if this actually gets approved, which I doubt, you might want to add more strikes necessary to get banned. |

Nah, -1 support point.
But I can see where you're going, it would stop some people from saying OMG THROW ME IN JAIL PLX!11 |

+1 Support Point.
I like the SRB2's system, on the first offence, you'll immediately be banned for three days. Second offense was 7 days, and third offence was permanent. Although, the only reason it might've worked so well was simpley because there was a lot of spam in it. I still think we should introduce more tempbans into the system though. |

I actually support this. The whole jail system doesn't work. If you lock a spammer into one forum, they'll just spam more. It doesn't really teach them anything. But if we actually started suspending people and banning people, maybe people would stop breaking rules. Because really, losing the right to post might make someone think about following the rules. And if that doesn't teach them anything, then too bad, they can be permanently banned. |

I'm actually indecisive on the matter. What we have right now seems to be working fine. Going straight to temp bans also doesn't really give a person to communicate with the mods about their situation, either. |

I say we just make jail sentences longer. They're not going to learn anything after just a few hours in jail, but a 3-day jailing would be about the same as a 3-day banning. And Nastasia, you can only post 5 times a day when jailed. And using those few posts for spam gets you banned for a very long time. It almost perma-banned LB. |

...okay, but the jail system still doesn't work. If someone knows they're going to get out, they'll just start breaking rules again when they're out. |

That's when the benhammer comes. The jail is probably just to teach "newbies" the rules or to teach n00bs the basic internet rules, not to stop spammers really... Spammers should just get an automatic ban the first time. A huge difference between n00bs and spammers to me. |

I don't see how we can "make them longer". |

Thank you. I've been meaning to bring this up, but if I posted it people would just disagree. Jail doesn't work, there has never been a truer fact. We need temp bans after 3-5 strikes for a day in my opinion. |

Make it 3 days, and you've got a support point. |

And I thought 1 day would be too extreme for you guys. I believe I underestimated you. 3 it is. |

Flavio dis-concurs. The jail system is fine, as it allows contact with the mods and admin. Though, we DO need to start giving out Temp bans as well. |

Actually, you should at least remove the jail board. It's kinda useless imo. |

We need a whole lot less jails, and a whole lot more bans. |
