Most probably, the left, because Mario is in and we're talking a Nintendo game.
But, in my control, that would be a hard thing to decide. Specially when Pikachu and Fox don't fight for the same side. |

As I was thinking in the back of my mind, that most people will only look at mario, and sonic. |

As I was thinking in the back of my mind, that most people will only look at mario, and sonic. |
I was using the Nintendo viewpoint of it.

I assume by "canon", you mean using all possible abilities, or simply Smash Bros. Skills.
If the latter, the left side would win. The Meta Knight + Dedede combo causes death for whoever they oppose (MK just has to superfastjuggle while Dedede comes in for the kill). Even with Falcon Punch, the right side could just be juggled by the left side to the point where even the Lamemaster Tank could beat 'em.
If the former, then the right side wins, ten seconds flat. Ganondorf is a diety. Everyone but Link and Zelda = Dead. Landmaster + Air-Prefered Landmaster + FP + Sonic Boom = Win. |

Heh, if we were talking about true canon, even after a character managed to link all the Nintendo universes somehow, Ness would probably be in a wheelchair, Samus or ZSS would not be there, as well as Zelda/Shiek, plus many other characters would be paradox'd out. |
