Is your school too strict? Mine is. They have some stupid rules:
*To participate in Spirit Week, you have to be eligible for sports. Who's the Cragnon that came up with that?
*Pep assemblies are mandatory attendance. You can't go to the library during one. STHU noobish school people!
*You must do a mile run in under 10 minutes to play any sport. LOLWTF?
*Certain sites like Cartoon Network and Roblox are benned. Now that phails.
*Acronyms like LOL and WTF belong on the internet, not in speaking. I don't know how to respond to THAT one.
What kind of stupid rules does your school have? |

We have this weird system with 'Standard Cards'. Basically, you carry round these cards and if you act... well badly, you get a signature. 5 signatures and you get a detention. Actually, that's about it :/ |

Well, in my school, there is penalty for the following cases:
a. Lack of schoolwork b. Lack of homework c. Absence d. Improper conduct e. Exclusion in class by the teacher
These are probably not translated the way they should be, but oh well.
Anyway, the teachers send the students that didn't do homework go do it in the library, and they get penalty for lack of homework AND exclusion in class. It's absurdly redundant and makes it look worse than it is, so they should either eat the penalty b or not give the penalty e for lack of homework. |

At my school, you're allowed to carry ammunition for guns.

My school has kind of the opposite problem. They don't have any really stupid rules, but the rules they do have aren't very well enforced. See, we have a computer room. One of the rules of the school is that you need to be quiet in the computer room. Up until a few weeks ago, this rule was not enforced at all. Playing loud music in the computer room is annoying, but not harmful. But when people are cussing at the top of their lungs, unplugging computers that other people are using just to piss them off, and MOSHING IN THE ROOM AND CRASHING INTO THE TABLES AND THROWING CHAIRS AT EACH OTHER, there's a problem. |

Let's see...
No bags, but girls can carry purses.
Internet sites are always blocked, and almost ALL are unnecessary (like Digg or DeviantArt), but sites like eBay and Amazon, where a student could easily steal a credit card to use, are not blocked.
The computer teachers can spy on what you're doing on the computer, which means they can read your email without you even knowing (in my words, invasion of privacy). And even if you have free time, if you are seen playing a game the teacher can automatically shut you down. This is all done with some lame spying program on the teacher's computer.
No drinks, not even bottled water. Ever. Even in gym. yet my school has a soda and Gatorade machine.
No opinions in newspaper articles. Kinda hard for me because I'm chock-full of them.
I'm not allowed to draw comics anymore in school because I was deemed "mentally unstable"... Just because I have a weird drawing style and sense of humor. I'm not really mentally unstable, just so y'know.
Headphones on computers are not allowed in most rooms.
We aren't allowed to complain about a teacher if he or she isn't doing a good job. We can't complain about anything, really...
If games are found in your school account folder, you lose your account forever.
The teacher has to ESCORT you to lunch, despite being at a high school level. This only started this year.
11th grade students (like myself) are FORCED to take electives to prep for a standardized test, even though we've been done with it for a month and never have to take it again.
Completely moronic dress code: Boys can't wear tight jeans (I do anyway), girls can't wear tight tops (they do anyway).
Petitions result in a 3 week suspension, and you have to make up all the work you missed in the first week you are back.
..>There are plenty more, but I'm too lazy to type them. |

Other dumb rules that I found out about:
*If you search for pr0n on the internet, you shall be perma-benned. Okay, that one makes sense. But... *Teachers are allowed to be Bandwidth-hogs, but students have to be happy with 50Kb of Bandwidths. O_O *Saying that pep assemblies or school spirit stuff is phaled gets you detention. Now that's just mean.
And one that my mom came up with last night: *The night before a standardized test, there will be no gaming whatsoever. That only proves that my mom is crazy. [sneak]But I charged ma DS so during next week's test, I can play it and hide it under the bed pillows when my mom knocks.[/sneak] |
