Lol ranting is fun. Kinda.

~x~

'K. I'm just gonna start with RPOT.

We have the people who love RPOT. Just because who aren't an "elitist" doesn't mean you can't like RPOT.

Oh wait, I just said elitist.

Elitists are, according to other Nerrs, members who spend every moment in RPOT, and are the most popular members there.

The Popularity Scale isn't a myth on Digibutter. But what makes you popular? Post Count? Being Random? Talking about [M] related things a lot, manly the mentioning of sexual terms or body parts located in private areas? Being "worshipped" by other members? Doing "epic" stuff?

Don't get pissed if I'm wrong, but that's how it seems lately, from my point of view. Now, that doesn't count for everyone. There's many Popularity Scales, for Roleplaying, OT, etc etc etc.

One thing I've been hearing is that "elitists" never leave RPOT. So what? If they like RPOT, leave them alone. Some people never leave OT either, but I don't hear anyone whining about them.

OT is just as spammy, if not even more spammy, than RPOT. In fact, I prefer RPOT, because OT is always full of [M] topics and over-swearing. But there are some topics that are great in OT, and there are some spammy topics in RPOT. But a lot of people dislike RPOT because they're ignored there.

However, people blame elitists for causing their topics in RPOT to be ignored. That's one of our negative points. A lot of people get ignored in RPOT, even the elitists do on occasion. Most people RP only with other people, and get ignored if they don't enter the topic. Why?

Maybe people don't like that plot, the alt, maybe they just don't like the member. Who knows? Only the people that don't go into that topic. I dunno. Maybe it just doesn't interest them. :/

But it doesn't mean you should just blame people who are more popular. I've seen topics ignored when "elitists" aren't on. Everyone gets ignored once in a while.

Another thing? Don't flame "elitists". It makes you look worse. There's been so much flaming against RPOT and OT, I've lost respect for about 50% of the members here. Mainly because people only dislike them because they "hog attention". People RP with "elitists" because they like their Alts or plots, not because they're popular. So please, for the sake of those "elitists" who still have a shred of their mentality intact, shut up.

'K. Subject change kinda.

Remember the golden days of RPOT? It got positive comments from most members, and it was pretty awesome. There were no "elitists", and during the Golden Age of Digibutter we called Summer Vacation, there wasn't much of a Popularity Scale.

I really miss those days. But I don't really remember when Digibutter suddenly got a popularity scale. But since then, it seems like 40% of us like RPOT, 40% hate it, 15% don't really care, and the other 5% just wants everyone to shut up. I'd say I'm in that 5%. :/ Well, I'm just hoping Summer Vacation will bring a new Digibutter Golden Age.

Don't point out members. Don't point out forums. I mean really, what the *crag* ever happened to equality amongst nerrs? Even though that sounded incredibly lame, I know I'm not the only one who misses the days of Item Wars, Hot Pockets, abuse of shovels, pink spraypaint, usergroups, The Dump, and the wonderful lack of a popularity scale.

~x~

I'm Mona, and this was my Random Rant of the Day, which I hope you actually read/skimmed/asked someone to summarize for you.

Hopefully my replies to this topic will be more contributed and descriptive (yet shorter) than my obvious wall o' text. Mmm. Lotsa textghetti.

I agree completely.
The reason in go in RPOT instead of RP is I am hopeless at role-playing, and RPOT is a lot less strict.

I almost forgot about that. o.o

RPOT is supposed to be like Casual Roleplaying. RP is for more serious RPs. In RPOT, it's for simple topics that are supposed to be in-character. RP is for Roleplays with serious plots, that are meant to last for a long time.

At least, from my POV.

I know, right?

I hope this Summer Vacation restores some of Digibutter's lost win. :<

Ah, those were the days...

I joined 2 months before Summer Vacation, and that is when Digibutter was truly epic. Before HP and MP, before items...

We were just a forum. A forum for nerrs.

Now... we're a cesspool of popularity issues.

I joined in May, left in July, and rejoined in August.

I remember when we actually said "nerr" and "Hi-Technicaaaaal!", and I remember when the SPM was active, and I remember when we had plots OUTSIDE of RPOT and RP, and it was like...awesome.

I even remember the posts I made as Tayl, Kitayl, Kit Quizmo and Ashley, I remember creating Clan Solia, I remember when RPOT was first opened, I remember all of the old plots, fads, and RPs...oh how wonderful it was.

My only hope is that we can all stop flaming and spamming and getting pissed over little things, and maybe someday we can rebuild Digibutter to it's former glory.

That screws it, I'm gonna start acting more like I used to.

You know. Be in-character. I'll use old fads, and remake the original Mona Pizza, despise Pizza Dinosaur, actually use items, and use more nerr-tastic terms.

It is correct that everybody gets ignored, but some people just get ignored too much. That's why I left RPOT; the fun of it is destroyed now, except for some members.

But, that's on the less mattering part.

It seems like Digi's past was full of glory, and fun, and all that jazz. And I'm a year late. With a sigh, I wish I had left that dumbass forums of before sooner. I had to notice it was no good for me to stay only after I have been banned by an elitist moderator. (In case anyone complains about the term elitist being used there, BTW, I'm talking about other forums. One that is much different.)

But, we can't just sit around and complain about these being days. I have seen a forums sank into a pool of shit, and then hop off and become good again. Not as good as before, but good. Unfortunately, it sank again... But oh well. The point is it's no worth sitting around complaining Digibutter was soooo better before. We should make it better. And it seems to me Mona is working on it already by that last post.

I say we bring back what we can. We can't bring back things like The Dump or nametags, but let's try to have item wars and all that stuff. And talk like hi-technicaaaal nerrs. I'd be more of a contribution if I had some more coins and if I had experienced the past.
