What moron would fall for that? He's basically saying, if a guy is running at you with a sword, it's safe to attack him close combat. And if a guy is running at you with a gun, run away.
Honestly, close combat with the sword side will only get you killed, and close combat with the gun side, and he has only one attack that'll freaking hit you. |

The only thing about taking the gun side up-close is that a projectile has a higher chance of hitting. If you back away, you have a chance to dodge/sidestep.
The sword part sounds downright stupid though. >_> |
