Do humans favor specific shapes. I say yes. I've noticed that humans are partial to triangles, squares(diamonds and rectangles included), hexagons(6 sides) and circles.

Triangles. Tippi is made out of right triangles. Several letters of the alphabet are based on triangles. A, L, M, N, V, and W can all have triangles fitted into them.

Squares. Do I even need to give any examples? Computer monitors, digital images, people from paper mario, houses, and mostly everything is based on squares.

Hexagons (6 sides). These are a bit more unexpected, but if you count the sides on things, you will find a large quantity of hexagons. Even the outline of a regular icosahedron (20 faced platonic solid, also my favorite hedron) at certain angles is a hexagon.

Circles. So many things in nature are round. if you take some water and put it out in space, it forms a sphere, which is a circle if outlined at any angle.

So when designing a logo, think about these things.

That's probably cuz the shapes you listed are all the most basic shapes.

Perhaps they seem basic because we favor them and use them often.

Perhaps my psycological skills seem superb because I used more complex words and more sophisticated language. For example... geometrical figures sounds more complex than shapes. I also put out alot of evidence that my claims were indeed true. For example... I have lots of "For Example..." in my posts. Or perhaps it was the relating to this forum. By using tippi and paper mario people as examples, I made a connection with all of you, therefore enhancing the trustworthiness in my posts.

Or maybe because they occur the most in nature.

Maybe we use squares for buildings because it's the most efficient way to use space?

Yeah, I could imagine how hard it would be to build/use a circle building...xD And a triangle building would have less space than a square and it would feel cramped up inside.

It would feel wierd because we are used to quadrilateral forms in our structures.

Wrong. He simply made an observation. This has nothing to do with psychology.
