*adjusts what could possibly be imaginary glasses and an imaginary monacle.*

The Super Smash Bros. world is an imaginative land of random Nintendo all-stars clasing to see who is the top and return to their lives as boring, motionless toys and trophies. Therefore, with the addition of being turned into a trophy being "death", as introduced in the Subspace Emmissary, we are left with the conclusion that all toys are suicidal, but don't want to be killed otherwise. Make a lot of sense? No, of course it doesn't.

This topic is about investigating the sciences of the Super Smash Bros. world, and giving logical explainations to some of the most confusing questions. Who is Tabuu? Why does Falco personally prefer the air? Does King Dedede have a hammerspace bag? And who the *crag* is the Pokemon Trainer?

Each day, I will edit this first post to include another one of my fully ramblonic scientific pies. If you wish to give me your own recipie, that is fine. In other words, I'll take one question per day. If I do not receive any questions, then the game is over, it all ends...until I think of one (which will probably not happen for a while). If your question is not chosen one day, it may be another day. I also appreciate comments, no matter if they be tasty treats or burning flames.

So, without further adeu, let me begin one of the more puzzling, most creative, most insane scientific studies ever done.

A Child's Story: Mastering Crazy is Tabuu

A simple thing is the Smash Bros world: imaginary. In the original Super Smash Bros, it is established that Master Hand, the glove whose power is absolute, is really a child. All eight of the original Super Smash Bros. fighters were just simple toys, brought to life through the power of Master Hand's imagination. He purchased four more toys along the course of his little game, depending on if he got bored with a certain toy and felt like another was necessary. The toys themselves were placed, by the magic of the child's imagination, in fighting arenas, where they would duel to the death with themselves, using the accessories the child had purchased and their own special skills. After the child had seen enough victories from a certain toy, he himself would come and challenge the toy. However, his imagination proves to be more powerful in the manifestation of other objects (and it's fun to see the hero win). So, once the day is saved from the "evil" Master Hand, he places the toys away, ready to play another day. In the original Super Smash Bros, everyone is happy (except Jigglypuff, who had to fight Donkey Kong or Captain Falcon every time), and the world is at peace.

Enter Super Smash Bros. Melee. The child has now become a more matured version of himself, most likely at about age 11-14. While maturing, he still loves playing with his new collection of trophies, since he's outgrown the dolls, making them battle in even grander splendor. However, the child is a bit more...reckless, and destructive with his toys. Enter Crazy Hand, a sign of the child's false maturity. Crazy Hand simply wishes to destroy his trophies, to see them crushed, as they have obviously become too powerful to handle and have broken some rule. Giga Bowser is also an example. The child, possibly seeing Bowser as either a pathetic wimp or a powerful beast, decides to give Bowser another go, only this time, letting him absolutely destroy the competition. The child is beginning to show favoritism toward villans (Event Match 51, there's three times you have to fight Bowser in event matches, Giga Bowser, etc.), yet still retains some of that "good guys win" nature that he held dear as a child. Everyone was happy...until the child got bored with Mewtwo and threw him out, and Pichu was placed under "drug charges" with Dr. Mario, or something. The maturity continued with the imported toys, but Roy was on steroids...

Come Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the child is now a young adult, probably 16-20. And THIS is where the Subspace Emmissary kicks in. The child no longer wishes to play with his toys. He wants to leave them completely behind, replace them with other things, and leave the world behind him. This is represented by Subspace. However, there is still part of the child that wishes to keep his past, keep playing the game. This is personified as Master Hand. Using Ganondorf, his favorite toy, as a pawn, the child is able to slowly but surely eliminate parts of his childhood into the twisted realm of darkness we know as "Subspace". All the while, his envisioned, new, "god of the end" form is envisioned as Tabuu. Since Tabuu is now the new destructive force, Crazy Hand and Giga Bowser are unnecessary, thus why they didn't appear in SSE.

However, the toys themselves, having experienced so much with the child, are not willing to go down without a fight. King Dedede is able to keep the child's inner spirit alive through his three badges, while Peach is able to represent the friendship each toy had, and Kirby is...Kirby, Kirby, Kirby, you should know. Eventually, seeing the failure of his childhood, Tabuu is ready to give it up once and for all, take charge, and control the child to go and buy a car or Sony stuff. And, while this succeeds in the form of Snake, the good agent's debut on a Nintendo console makes him an enemy as well. When Ganondorf sees Master Hand, the god of the world, chained and destroyed, he attacks this new form, only to be killed. Master Hand is then "killed", along with the army of remaining fighters that King Dedede had not saved. However, Master Hand is able to come around one last time. The inner-child buys one last toy: Sonic. Through this, the entire army of toys is able to destroy Tabuu, the unknown, the doubt of the Nintendo universe, inside the child, freeing him, and freeing the trophies.

Thus, as the trophies look into the sunset atop the cliff, they see what was once lost: the creativity, genius, and fun of Super Smash Bros.

Blasting off Again: The Damage-to-Flight Theory

The Smash Bros. world is, in actuality, the imagination of Master Hand. He personifies his world through his toys, his backdrops, his accessories, and just a touch or so of magic. However, there obviously has to be a winner and a loser to every bout.

At first, Stamina was used. Master Hand, being incapable of being knocked around, found this the best solution for him and, therefore, the rest of the Smash Bros. combatants. However, this lead to tedious fights in close-range, and an unfair advantage for Pikachu and Link. Therefore, Master Hand needed a new style.

Then it came. How do toys get "lost"? They fall, they fly, they go missing. Falling into the lost kingdom soon became falling in battle for the toys. The more damaged they got, the more likely they were to fall. However, they all still had the desire to continue to fight, to continue to play with Master Hand until their jobs were done. That was their purpose, and still is. Therefore, recovery was added. In addition, Master Hand left some of his stamina power inside the toys, still letting higher-damaged characters have a disadvantage, but actually giving the likes of Donkey Kong and Jigglypuff a chance.

The concept of fighting in the Smash Bros. world is the concept of toys trying to stay on their playsets to entertain their masters. Eventually, they wear and begin to slow (knockback recovery), but they always continue. For the sake of battle, for the sake of Master Hand, and for their own sakes, they continue...and laugh all the while.

---

That is the end of my reports. Comments would be appreciated.

My logic of Super Smash Bros has just been shattered. Great Job Mister I, great job. Oh and what part of the "childs" imagination would describe the Ancient Minster? Does it describe the sadness of how his childhood disappeared as he grew older or does it just describe the "childs" depressed side?

The ancient minister part WOULD be very confusing to make.

The Ancient Minister is another toy, as are his legions of soliders. I suppose that, since the entire Super Smash Bros. world was created by Master Hand, including the characters (using toys and personalities to model them after), then I could say that you are correct, Goron Mask.

Wonderful explination! Who would have thunk that Smash Bros. is really a story of child's growth into adulthood, struggling to keep hold of his/her imagination.

A very detailed, yet heart-filled explanation.
This does leave another factor.
Shadow flies, are they a "part of the child", or "part of the collection" ?

Good anylisations.
I have some of my own, after reading that.

I believe Kirby represents the curious, simplistic side of the child, and was his one of his/her favorite heros, considering how much of a part the little guy got along with Mario and the princesses.

Ancient Minister/R.O.B. may represent the child's regret, and eventual atonement for what he was doing, looking toward the robot's constantly depressed way of acting.

It's simple. The kid is 20 years old, and he played with an NES. He had great memories of the games with R.O.B. and the R.O.B.'s dying in subspace was killing his happy memories.

here's a question, SSSSS-BLAM: are you sure the Master Hand was revived? I don't remember ever seeing him/it after everybody entered the Great Maze...
also, I think there might be more to Tabuu...on his trophy (not that I have it yet...), I believe it says something like "no name could be more fitting." there's also the fact that he looks exactly like a human (aside from the wings and cyber stuff, of course).
anyway, excellent job. I like your idea of how the child favors villains, and why Crazy and Giga Bowser didn't appear.

...or maybe its because Brawl was made by HAL, SSSSS-BLAM.

I will assess the damage-to-flight theory very quickly, yet I will address the theory of Master Hand's revival.

If Master Hand was not revived, then Sonic would've never appeared. Sonic would've remained wiped-out, like all of the others. You have to remember that King Dedede, Luigi, and Ness faced no resistance until they began facing Tabuu's direct, inner-subspace forces. Therefore, everything else stopping them from entering was either destroyed, or Tabuu has nearly no forces (which is untrue). Therefore, Master Hand (at one point or another, there were about a million points inside the Great Maze) got a Sonic trophy to counteract the "Tabuu" feelings of hatred for his imaginations inside of him.

Also, Master Hand most likely is the physical manifestation of the sunset seen in the intro to the game and ending of the SSE. The light represents the Super Smash Bros. universe in all its creativity. Master Hand is the physical manifestation of that creativity for "creation". Also, since Ganondorf (who was most likely linked closest to Master Hand) is in the crowd in the outro, this further increases the chances of this happening.

And don't say "lol, because the heroes win and Sakurai made it that way". If we know one thing from that man, it's to expect the unexpected (Miyamoto, too), and that all of his works have a deeper, more wonderful meaning.

Also, Brawl was developed by Sora Ltd. and volunteers, not HAL Labs.

That, was incredible, it totally made me cry at the end of it. And I don't cry easily. It was very well thought out. Great job on it!
