My family saw this thing on TV, about how Wal-Mart is screwing all the immigrant workers who work in the factories of Wal-Mart, and how they mess up the hours of employees, make Immigrants pay for room and board, regardless of living in or out of the factory, and brainwashing the masses with low prices, and other things!

In other words, you shop at Wal-Mart, you support the Sweatshops they run! How can you help? Don't fall for the Low Prices they go for, spend MORE money, and go to stores like Target, or Sears, or even Best Buy! If the robotics guys were smart, they'd make robots that would replace all the immigrant workers in the sweatshops, and all the third-world countries would be SO poor that they'd simply cease to exist! Or maybe us Americans need to be able to endure the sweatshops ourselves, regardless of our weight or physical condition, so the merchandise can really say "Made For Americans, BY Americans," and really mean it!

DON'T SHOP AT WAL-MART!!

When they signed up to work there, they signed a contract saying that they agreed to all terms. If they disagree, they quit. The robotics guys are smart in the fact that they aren't spending all of their time on this rather than exploration, building in heavy industry, or otherwise. I agree that the sweatshops are bad, but it is a matter of agreement between two entities, and at that, it slightly helps unemployment in such regions.

Captain Fanzone from TransFormers Animated said it best, when he said...

"This is why I hate machines!"

Besides, if Unemployment was one of the causes for World War II, then won't this mean that History will repeat itself, and that the Earth will be plunged into an age of darkness called World War III?

Most probably, as it has been increasing in areas where this is a problem since the mid '90s.

I'm not sure how increasing unemployment will help that though.

At that, most things on TV that attempt to destroy another company are stretched. Just be sure to filter what you see.

EDIT: Finally, these sweatshops will quite often pay quite a bit more than other jobs in those areas as well as give extra benefits.

Wow I really respect your "Humanitarian" Post..... Especially that line RIGHT there, You deserve a Nobel Peace Prize.

Oh and I would pick this apart and explain modern retail and how it works, but honestly its not worth the effort. I don't support the essential Slave labor we put Illegals through. (I mainly dislike the Tax Evasion, and the Ignorance of minimum wage by large company's)

But...Wal-Mart isn't our enemy...it's our neighborhood friend![/salesslave]

I've always discouraged large convenience stores like Wal-Mart, simply because it takes away from smaller, more specialized (yet often higher-quality) businesses. I enjoy quality rather than quantity and time spent.

As for immigrant labor...that's an issue? Seriously? Isn't America supossed to be pretending to be in a war, suffering from oil loss, and mooching off of other countries' recources, and we're worried about THIS?! Intelligence is truly at a low, when America needs aid in not destroying itself.

Uh, thanks, I guess. Were you being sarcastic about respecting my words about the Third World Countries?
