The bubble was from SMW's Ghost Houses, however, they only inverted players, never made them go slow or put flowers on their heads.
...I'm still curious about Luigi using it, though. |

I was thinking Mario Finale was based off of Mario's ultimate flame attack from Super Mario: RPG. But I have no idea what Link's is from. |

Perhaps Luigi uses it because of his association with ghosts in Luigi's Mansion. |

They probably made it Luigi's FS because Luigi has a mansion and stuff. After all, Luigi doesn't really have anything else to use for a FS.
Link's FS is Triforce Slash because he has a Triforce, and... Well... He doesn't really have any 'ultimate attacks' in any LoZ game that I've played. |

Link's FS could've been Super Ether or something...
Anyway, that seems very logical. I mean, they put in Hothead as an item, and HE was an annoying enemy from Super Mario World (albet slower, the fast ones were Lil' Sparkies...Bowser's Castle Door 4 still BURNS!).
And it makes sense, since the bubbles only appeared in one Ghost House level... |
