Really, viewing over my past job as a moderator, I have done little to no good for the site. All I have done is suggest, talk, and help, things I could do as a regular member. I love helping out the digibutter community, I think it could be a wonderful place for everyone in a few years. I...just don't think I'm the right person for the job.
So, I want to give the chance to someone else. I know Francis will make the final call, but if I don't make the attempt, I'd never know if I could've done it and admitted the truth. If you'd like to be a moderator, I am willing to give my position to you. Please explain why you'd like the job, what you'd do for digibutter, and generally anything else you'd like to include. If all goes as I forsee, by the end of this week, a mod I shall no longer be, and one of you shall take my place and make digibutter digibetter.
So, if you would like to, this is an honest attempt by a moderator to help the members of digibutter reach for the coveted position. This has not been approved by Francis, nor is this any sort of mod plot. I just want to make certain that digibutter is in the right hands, and I don't think mine can hold it. |

I'm pretty active, I love the site, and for the most part, I follow the rules, only gaining about one or two strikes in the entire time I've been here.
I think I would be good for the job because I'm not the most popular user on the site, but I'm not hated either, therefore causing less controversy and less "DEMOD [mod]" drama and stuff.
Plastic Mario once held a test to see how good normal users would be at being mods, and I scored around the high average.
Also, I've never been one to abuse power. I wouldn't go on any emo streak and lock everything.
And there's been so many flame wars I could have prevented...
I also realize that is a tough job, not a rank, and with great power comes great responsibility. I would still be me, of course, and I'd still do (almost) everything I do now, right? So, I think I'd do okay as a mod.
I want to be able to help out this wonderful site, and prevent the spam that has hit us with the "DICKFACE!!!!" fads and all the potential spammers we've accidentally let in...
I don't want to see the forum die, and I feel like I'm powerless to help as just a member. If I were picked as a mod, It wouldn't be a mistake. I may not have picked a Mario-related username, but that shouldn't make me any less of a candidate if Francis approves this topic. |

Ehee hee hee! Mister I, you have been a contributing, intelligent and overall admirable member of the community, which, personally, is what I would deem more than sufficient to warrant moderator capacity. It's not what you do improve the community, it's how you intend to do so that counts. The intellectual opinions of a diverse individual is all that a forum requires, afterall, that is the objective of an establishment like this.
Perhaps, you are simply putting yourself down for capabilities that are already apparent within you. Listen to yourself, "All I have done is suggest, talk and help, things I could do as a regular member...". You have forgotten that, doing these seemingly minor things, although possibly insignificant, you are still contributing beneficially to the society, and in essence stimulating it. Everyone can do their part for the community, moderators simply reinforce that aspect.
You don't need to stop being a member when you become a moderator, in fact, they are almost identical, just with some added privellages. Keep your moderator occupation, in my book, you're doing a fine job, and I'm sure that the rest of the community will completely agree with me.

I, Myself wish too be a mod.
It will help me greatly, and my reputation.
Most, maybe even all mods can't do proper discipline. They always end it with, "God, I suck at moderation." and crap. Allot of mods have done that, (specifically TSS3.) But thats not proper discipline. You strike not because you hate the member, but because you love them. You want the best for them, and of course they will talk back to you and stuff, But that's all part of it.
I am very active in digibutter, (at least at day-time). I think allot of people here won't think I would make a good mod, but thats because of how I act. I still have the old Larry Koopa in me, and I know I can release it. But how? The only thing I know how to become back to the normal me is to become a mod.
It's the only thing I really wanted in my whole year of digibutter, I'll be so happy that I can't be the assy Larry Koopa/Altair most of you know.
I also won't brag, I don't want lots of people to know I am mod actually. Of course making me mod would be a shocking thing in digibutter history, but I know I can do it. I've helped this site in so many ways, and I can definitely take on the task of being a Mod.
I'll strike what I have too. If I see a flame sparkling, I will give a warning to calm down. But if they do not listen, I will discipline them. |

Thanks for your comments, Spooky Speedster, but I know I can continue to contribute as a regular member. Dicipline is hard for me to inflict, I cringe every time I press the "report" button, because though it's for their own good, I'm scared I'll hurt someone or start something. I'm too timid and weak to be a fully successful moderator, and I believe someone could do the job better. That's not to say I still won't help the community - I love it like a family - but just not with the title of "mod" hanging over my head like a flashy neon sign.
And thus, I simply wish to give others who wish for the opportunity...er...the opportunity.
Thank you to the two of you who have applied. You are both wonderful and caring people, I know... |

Ehee hee hee! Are you certain about your decision? I don't wish to submit an application knowing that I would be stripping a privellaged member of his moderator capacity. Francis picked you specifically, for a designated reason, which should a sufficient indicator of your potential. You are obviously a prime candidate for such an occupation and deserve that title to it's optimum capacity, and no one will remove that from you. Your decisions are based upon your knowledge of the community and your understanding of the members, which outdates the majority of the members. You are a veteran, and know this place better than most competant members, and you should endorse that factor and cherish it. I'm certain that you are conscious of decisions, whether it is harsh or negligible. The fact that you show companionship and resent for the punishment underlines how deeply you care for the community, which, again, is another defining factor in moderator criteria. |

Remember, Spooky Speedster, Mr. I didn't just go and make this decision out of the blue...
I'm sure that whoever, if anyone, will take on this burden would be happy to give it back to Mr. I if he decides it was a mistake. |

Well, I've been a mod before on other fourms...
I try to be fair and help out...
And I know I'd do my best to help Digibutter.
I could be a mod... Not exactly want with all my heart to be, but could be. |

Nooo! Mister I, I know you have wanted to give your position to someone, you're that nice. You wanted to give it to me at one point, but I am happy you backed out of it... Sure, you're not the best mod ever, but I don't see why you need to give up the position I don't go in RPOT or any place like that, and you're the main mod there.
Of course, I can see where you come from... But you just have to keep truckin', man!
If you are really sure you want to give it up, fine. I can't stop you. I just think you should rethink this... |

similar to Dark prognosticus, i have been a moderator on a few other forums, one was small(ish) while others were and still are as large as digibutter, none of them i have quit from being a mod, although two of the forums have died(hackers) i most likely am much to inexperienced on this forum for it to mean much(time-wise) but im just throwing it out there
i also agree with sooky speedster that a mod shouldnt be BWAHAHAHAHAHAH I WILL NOW REPORT YOU but a average user who has just a bit more say in things possibly and never have to go out of there way to report people unless it is serious. I think so atleast. |

I've been wanting to be a mod for a long time. A REALLY long time. I always felt angry whenever Francis chose a new moderator, because I felt like he was completely ignoring me. I know I kinda sound like an attention whore here and it sounds like I only want it to be popular and stuff, but that's not the case. I've been a moderator at a few other websites, and I know what it's like. In fact, I'm currently a moderator at the Digibutter Oekaki chat. And I love the job. No matter how frustrating it may be, or how much it might annoy me. I just kinda ended up getting stuck liking this job ever since I ended up with it at this other forum a long time ago, and I don't want to give it up. I would love to be able to do more to help Digibutter. I know you might think I might not be a good mod because I just don't seem like a good moderator, but I will try my hardest when I get the job. I won't be lazy and I won't abuse my powers either. I'm not the kind of person who would do that. But it's perfectly okay if I don't get the job. It's not like I'm going to die over it or anything like that. It's just something I would like to do. I could just continue being a normal member, and you could choose someone better than me. It's okay. I won't get angry or depressed. I promise. |

*sigh* Goomba, as much as I'd like to continue, there's much better people out there. You were one of them, and look where you are now. I basically am the least-powerful moderator with the least influence, but that's alright. Really, it doesn't matter to me. It's just a flashy title that adds one more responsibility and has the potential to do great things to the site. I just have already used up my potential, and think that another person could do it better, that's all.
Thanks to all that apply. This is becoming such a freakin' hard decision on my part...ugh...>.< |

I've been an admin on my own forum, so I've had a bit of experience, but not much considering the forum only has 17 members...
The chance of modship would be both an opportunity and a burden in my opinion. While I hope that I would be able to help the forum, I'm not on as often as some of the members here and I'm not sure if I'd be exactly the right guy for the job.
I'm still not fully sure either way yet. If I am offered the place, then I will probably take it, knowing you think me worthy to take your place, but whoever gets the place I will accept them as the right choice. |
