Of course this is very old news, (but thanks for the release date) But I never enjoyed a Banjo Kazooie game. Too much like Donkey Kong, and I hate Donkey Kong games. (except Country) |

I'd say the entire thing went downhill after Diddy Kong Racing. Donkey Kong 64 was too large of a fetch quest for anyone with a life (i.e. not me, but I didn't finish it either, so...uh...) to actually finish, and wasn't as exhilarating to keep the gamer playing through the entire thing like, say, Zelda: OOT. Diddy Kong Racing was a fun distraction. The Donkey Kong Country series was the best 2D platformer series (not individual games, but series as a whole) ever made, with DKC2 being...I've ranted enough about that game.
However, do NOT compare Banjo-Kazooie to anything made in the DK series after Diddy Kong Racing's release! The bongo games were god-awful, with Jungle Beat being...well, bland in a lot of levels and WAY too short (the anti-Ridley). Banjo-Kazooie was nicely-spread, wity, and had just enough challenge to compliment its kiddy, yet fun, nature. Also it was a great-sized N64 game. I'd say it was Super Mario 64, but a little bigger and overall better. (i.e. one of the few games that actually pushed past the standard, but didn't raise it for some reason). |

But Really, I mainly compare it to Donkey Kong 64. It has god-forbidden music just like Donkey Kong 64, It style is just so...Rare-ish. I just never liked Rare's style, Only GoldenEye and Perfect Dark Zero, but everything about animals just plain out sucks for me. |
